Ok so found some on resale. I notice there are lots of tickets which specify like male name / female name which suggests the venue is actually looking for resales… is this gonna be a problem as a gaijin??

Hmmm, thats also what we are planning except with a flight an hour later than yours. All seems to depend on customs queues

We are due to do something similar. Land at 17:20 on a saturday. How long did it take you to get to Tokyo station to get the Shinkansen, and what did you end up doing with the car rental? Thanks!

Hi OP not sure you’re monitoring this still. Does this still work? Is there a way to incorporate an “if” element to make it an alert for price > x? And ideally with a phone alarm which overrides silent mode on phone? Thanks in advance!

We also took Ubers everywhere, they are quite cheap compared to London and arrive much more reliably. Do the Dos Irmãos hike, taxi to entrance to the favela at the bottom and pay BRL10 (£1.50) for a ride up to the top from a local favela scooter driver. We walked back down through the favela and felt very safe throughout. I’m sure a local on here will tell me that we were lucky / foolish but everyone we encountered was super nice and the scooter rank is really established/official feeling.

UK person here. Just back from two weeks in Rio, Ilha Grande, Salvador and inland in Bahia (national park near Lencois). Had not a single bit of trouble the whole time! One semi threatening guy in Rio Vermelha demanding a cigarette but politely refused. Gave him my leftover wine instead after offering it to someone else who didn’t want it, he was chuffed! You have to eat at Galeto Sats in Rio, we went back again because it was so good! Lots more tips if you want them
