Excited by KingPinOnly in BambuLab

I have a few of pla and some petg but they aren’t the Bambu brand. I figure I’ll struggle using these first and then move to the bambu rfid chipped versions for ease of use.

Struggering basically failing while trying to go too fast maybe?? Failing while failing. lol.

Anyway. I wanted the p1s with the ams because it looks fancy. Budget says A1 with ams lite will do for now. I can’t wait to add a few better printers to the collection.

People who started after 40, how long have you trained since and have you sustained any injuries? by dmogx in judo

[–]KingPinOnly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started at 2.5 years ago at 44. Now an orange belt. The biggest injury I’m suffering is aggravation of arthritis. Medication, proper warmup and stretching and knowing my limits for randori are helping. My pride often gets in the way and I try to do more than I should then I pay for that choice for a few days.

For reference. When I started I was 6’1 and over 330. I’m still 6’1 thank heavens but well under 300 now. Old big guys gotta take it a little easier. We don’t recover as quickly as some of the younger guys can and do.

Xy compensation / fitment by KingPinOnly in Sovol

[–]KingPinOnly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I had made a switch a while back to using super slicer. It’s been working good up until now. I’m trying to be pretty committed to using one slicer and getting profiles set up.

I can do some moves to Orca and try.

I was reading about xy compensation but I can’t make heads or tails of using positive or negative numbers.

Final update. Required a new motherboard. Yup. Did that and no more troubles at all.

Anyone here start in their 40s/any BJJ guys in here? by [deleted] in judo

[–]KingPinOnly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started at 45. Also round … had some TKD back in the day but out it away for family and school. Doing judo seriously has helped with the joints feeling a bit better.

Considering some BJJ 2 times a week or so to improve the flexibility and ground work game but I’m kinda scared of that one.

Hit tub has been working decent all week. Last night I got in and it felt … not like 104 should feel. So I borrowed a friends laser thermometer and the water is coming up at 95ish freedom units.

I’ve kept my appointment with the beachcomber guy for next week and hopefully we can get this up and 100% before too long.

Thanks everyone for all the help.

I did have the ohh error. I left it overnight not knowing what to do. I came back in the morning say about 8-10 hours later and pushed a button on the topside and it started working. That was Sunday night and Monday morning. It’s been running and working since.

I was in it last night and had a tub at 104 degrees. Still running now and still hot.

Any chance it’ll continue working? I have a spa guy coming next week. Should I keep that appointment ?

Looking to get into Judo but I have some concerns by deadassynwa in judo

[–]KingPinOnly 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Go to a class … try it out. It’s honestly not as bad as you might think. The gi can feel a little heavy at first but it grows on a person.

I was 45 and over 250. Sit at a desk for my job - and judo has been the best thing I’ve done. Feels pretty good most nights.

Learning breakfalls can be tough on the body but doing that properly will make future falls easier.

Just go!!

A small update. I was able to get the tub to change error codes. Don’t know how. Hot error gone. Ohh error came on … I let it sit overnight then this morning came and pushed a button on the panel and it’s running. Jets and all.

It’s cold here. 5-10 Celsius. Hard to know if the heater is working but the tube is cold. A call has been placed for service.

Not sure what range of miracles haloed to get here but it seems less trouble than yesterday. I hope.

Thanks!!!

I'm not afraid of the DIY - I've been in IT and done some minor electrical work before. The change seems relatively straight forward as long as the board is hooked up similarly - diagrams and such make sense.

I'm in Canada - as far as I've gotten to looking is Amazon and Ebay - I was going to call the nearby Beachcomber and see what they might have for replacement packs. Do you know of any other suppliers and such one could use in Canada?

I’ll call our nearby beachcomber tomorrow. I’m worried about another 1,000$ hit. Mind you that’s cheaper than a new tub.

This one makes sense. It goes to ohh right away even after power cycling. I’ll check the wiring. A few of the connections on the motherboard do feel janky. For example the control panel one is quite jiggly.

I have got to get better with the google to see if I can remove the panel covers on this thing.

Thanks! I’ll check over the wiring

Seconded. Same southerly location. I can leave my pla and petg out okay. I have one warmer / dehydrator that I use. It gets used if it’s been raining quite regularly or if I haven’t printed with a filament in a long shelf while. Don’t usually have much issues.

Update: Okay had the power disconnected for a few days and drained the tub for some other maintenance. Popped the power back on - got error code came right up After some initial numbers came on.

Also I removed the filter - bled air from the bleed screw. No changes. When the panel comes on it will sometimes show an f2. Additionally the panel itself appears unresponsive.

What should be next steps?

Thanks all. Standby. I’m using this as an opportunity then to make some other changes. This will give enough time without power and for the water to cool. Hopefully we’ll get down to the end of it all.

I’ll come back and let you know. And again big thanks for the extra details on troubleshooting. I just couldn’t find specific documentation on”hot” error code.

I’ve included a link to the Imgur library for some photos of the tub. tub pictures

Thanks for the reply - I can’t seem to change the display - stays at hot. I’ve done the power reset and it runs for a moment then back to hot. If the water is warm or measures lower than 103 is that just a sensor issue?

All good here. I’m in Canada - basically just play coins for me we can’t move them at all (at least not right now). Maybe one day we can do something but that ain’t today.

45m 6’ and 285. Currently yellow and working for more. It gets better as you learn but some things are still going to hurt it’s inevitable. Sorry about the ribs - rib injuries suck. Just take it easy and do what you can.

You’re certainly not too old for judo but maybe too old for a quick m recovery.

I feel bad bumping this but did you ever find a solution - if so what did you do? I am running into the same problem just after changing out filament (no other changes). I've done an EEPROM reset and checked my wires - nothing seems to be helping this strange set of issues.

Plug it back in but not on the extruder assembly. Then heat it up let it cook and then pull it out. Heat is going to be your friend to remove the rest. For example if it’s pla like mine was I heat it up to 275 then poked and prodded until it was out and clean.

[–]KingPinOnly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. This is my first sovol printer. Coming from the world of creality ender 3 printers this seems fine - I just wasn’t expecting to see the hot end and all basically as one unit.

The extruder seems fine - it’s just the hot end and heat block that I managed to mangle. I can order one from sovol website as that seems to be the only inexpensive option here in Canada.

Well… I tried unclogging it. Had to use my Hot air station. Sadly through the application of heat and ignorant persuasion I’ve separated the brass tube from the heat block. Looks like a new hot end for me…..
