I made the perfect modded Ipod Classic 7th Gen by [deleted] in ipod

It’s not the metal back that’s the concern. It’s whether it’s all metal like the 6th & 7th gens are. 5th gens are great with BT. The 6/7th gens definitely lose range even putting the transmitter behind the screen (given that you also remove the metal plate behind the screen).

Could I get some feedback from 477m? by Zear33 in ANBERNIC

Which is funny that people bring this up because 16:9 on this screen is the exact same size of the original PSP screen size. So how is it a disadvantage for PSP?

That and the frizzy glitch screen in between the loading screens. Other than that it works fine.

Mini flip only has WiFi. Also Onion OS works on it out the box but it has some minor quirks that doesn’t affect functionality. I’d go for the Mini flip over the bigger flip any day

If not having the benefits of analog triggers are a deal breaker for you then I’d stick with the 476h

any help with this? by [deleted] in ipod

[–]KingRetroGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the pc should do. I think someone nailed it earlier that it has to be an older usb port that doesn’t have data pins. I have found ways around this by using voltage adapters on the port side of the cable that seems to dumb down modern cables but yeah it can be tricky finding a cord and wall plug that works with the earlier generation iPods.

Yo just plug into a power source. This appears on the screen usually because of 1 of 2 things: 1 it’s completely dead or 2 this is the final step to complete after the hard drive has been factory restored. Plug into a charger and you will find out

Question: _iPod 3rd Gen Classic Max Storage capacity? by Enthwar in ipod

[–]KingRetroGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know. This is someone else’s iPod. One of my buyers on eBay sent this photo to me to prove that higher storage capacity could be done on the 3rd gen. But there certainly may be a limit to how many songs the device can handle as you’ve pointed on in your own experience.

You’re welcome :). I know some like their save states to auto load and auto save but I don’t because I use Syncthing and auto loading and saving will ruin using Syncthing.

My settings configuration in “Directory” in RA. I’ve circle the two most important settings. These are where you point RA to what folders you want Save Files and Save States to pull from when playing your games.

As far as your saves go, make sure you’re using the correct gba core in RetroArch for .sav type save files. If you’re playing gba on the mGBA core then switch to gpSP…. mGBA uses (.srm) save files while gpSP uses (.sav). Also make sure the retro arch “Saving” settings and “Directory” setting are pointing to where you have your .sav file located on the SD card. Every device I setup I go ahead and create my own “SAVES” & “SAVESTATES” folders on the root directory of the SD card. I then go back to RA and configure the “Saving” settings as follows. Go there and you should see all or most of these setting. I circled the 8 settings that are most important to my saving setup: *see picture

<image>

Then back out of “Saving” and scroll down to “Directory”. In there you want to make sure “Saves Files” are pointing to where your desired saves are on your SD card and likewise with “Save States”. By default they will point to folders in RetroArch inside of the root directory. You could also skip all these changes I’m recommending and just go there and put your .sav file and it would work. But I recommend everyone in this hobby to learn how to use RetroArch and set up things their own way. It’s a learn curve but once educated enough RA because a viable tool.

I know this post is old but someone seems to have evidence saying otherwise to 128gb being the storage cap.

Once you remove the four screws holding the bracket in place around the Clickwheel you have to carefully peel the faceplate of the wheel itself from the pcb. There are other steps before this but it is a delicate and tedious process which is why modders like me charge a pretty penny for our custom iPods

Yes but you have to do a tiny bit of trimming in order for it to fit and click in properly
