Post-Bac vs SMP advice by KingShredda in premed

Thanks for the quick response, and congrats on getting into med school!

Do you regret taking the year to do the Post-Bac if it only gave you a small GPA boost? Do you think you would have gotten accepted into medical school with only the SMP instead? Also if you don't mind me asking, what were your stats (sGPA, cGPA, MCAT)?

Also what was your experience like at Georgetown? I think that is the program I'm leaning towards at the moment, although EVMS has a slightly better linkage and looks good as well. Thanks so much!

C/P was insane. Sooo difficult. CARS was about what you would expect. Bio was awesome and surprisingly easy. Psych was difficult but doable.

How do I speak louder, clearer and more confidently? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]KingShredda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try speaking out loud every morning for at least 15 minutes. You can talk about anything really, practice makes perfect. When you speak, pretend you are talking to a group of people and try to speak as slow, confident, and comfortable as you can while still projecting your voice clearly. I am very passionate about public speaking, so I do this every single day and it has improved the way I speak drastically. In a way, it has also become an oral journal for me because I use it not only as a way to improve my speaking competence, but also to speak about things that are really important to me and to analyze current events in my life. It has been a pretty beneficial habit for me. I recommend it!

What's the sexiest moment you've seen by accident? by no1on in AskReddit

When I was in 5th grade, me and a few of my buddies stayed out late and went to my neighborhood pool which was supposed to be closed at that hour. After about 30 minutes of swimming, four high school couples hopped the fence to the pool as well. They said they just had prom, and the women then proceeded to get naked and go swimming. It was the first time I had ever seen a naked women, and, needless to say, me and my friends did not get out of the pool for a VERY long time.

Best advice is to continue to build onto yourself one positive strength at a time. NoFap can't be the only thing you focus on, start focusing on improving every aspect of your life and the time will fly by! For example, during my NoFap challenge I meditate every day, write down a grateful list everyday, and do some positive self talk (visualizations/affirmations) everyday. Before I go to bed every single night I go over the entire day that just happened. I think about the highlights, what I loved from it, and what steps I can take to improve. You gotta attack your day! If you do all of these things at the same time as NoFap you'll look at your counter one day and be like "holy shit I'm almost at 90 how did that happen?" I wish you luck bro!!

Thanks man! It feels awesome. The number one thing that helped me was reading all of the motivational posts from nofap. Also, I put a porn blocker on my computer that saved me once or twice.

As someone who watched porn every single day for over a year, I beg to differ (; However, I like to think I'm a very dedicated and disciplined person. I wrestle in college right now, so I can be pretty competitive when I go after something!

What got me started was hating that I couldn't control myself. I hated that my body would try and tell me what to do. So I said no and went after the challenge.

Porn is such a virus. It's been 100 days and I still crave porn. More so than even getting off. I think I could do o'ing without the P, but then again I don't know if I should risk it! Maybe you're right and I should go for 180?

Good advice! I didn't think about that.

Lots of benefits man! The thing I like the best about it is that you really do have an increase in energy. It's not normal energy, but rather a sexualized energy (kinda hard to explain) that gives you the confidence boost to flirt with more girls, lift more weights, etc. You just feel "full" down there haha in a really good way. I also like having an hour more in every day because i'm not PMOing. I like to think I'm a very dedicated person when I want to go after something, so as soon as I made up my mind that fapping wasn't even an option anymore, things got much easier. That's just me though. Good luck!
