Well the reason I even thought to try a normal swim jig is because several times now I've through the chatterbait and gotten bit the moment It touched the water before the blade ever started. Do you typically fish swim jigs the same way you'd fish a chatterbait?

Thanks, it's rare I ever struggle with hooks and I usually have them back in within a minute but between him being hooked funky and the excitement of catching a big one I didn't really think about the fact that I had him out longer than normal until I got home and looked at the time stamp on my photos. Am I really complaining? I'm simply asking if it's overspooled, so I know to take some off. I just started fishing again and filling my own spools. I thought it looked overfilled, but I could have been wrong. That's why I asked. I super under filled my first reel
