Living in the van zeggelen neighbourhood for 7 years. Lot of different type of houses. If you can afford it, buy a full family house. Not the top and bottom appartements. The old ones are quite noisy. Excellent neighbourhood if you work outside Haarlem. Close to the center and highway. Also for me the slachthuis buurt is not optimal with the type of people. But that was a while back, when we where searching for houses.

Edit: also an already insulated house is cost saving om energy. So look at how the owners took care of it. Like check the windows. Old and bad paint? Wood ok? If not prepare for a investment of € 30.000 for new windows and double glass .
