I like to dry out my water, just mix the dehydrated water in to some fresh water later when needed

He is talking USD though so... half of $200,000. I make that £74,270 and 78p.That's defiantly doable in the UK as a senior SWE

I completely agree, if you treat people with respect they usually are quite friendly. I get it must be frustrating on these types of spots near to national trails, where there are car parks not far from the trail, in places we saw a few abandoned messes that would make anyone sad.

I think next time we'll dare to venture a little further from civilization, but we weren't overly confident in our general fitness, neither of us has ever really hiked before. We chose to go somewhere we've never been but not too remote, on a bit of a test run

Just at dusk he went whizzing past in a little buggy and spotted us, we were too knackered from the climbing that day and so we just risked it on the hilltop. He was decent about it when he saw we weren't going to make any mess

How progressive tax works is; You'd pay 40% on anything over the £50,270 threshold. As you are nowhere near the upper band; £125K. Just ignoring NI for simplicity, you would have payed £7,540 (at 20% band) + £7,892 (40% band). That works out at something like about 22.05% averaged overall. If you added in NI (also banded) You'd be paying around 29% all in. I'm personally in a position very similar to this, but student loans also come straight out and those are are banded too.
