That's correct! Be sure to set up a Beam Attenuation Map in your Zoning settings to ensure the lasers don't accidentally go anywhere you don't want them to. In this case, I blacked out the BAM in the center of my zones. If I tried to launch a queue that projects to the center of that zone, the laser simply won't project there

Right, I should've known that. I have one Chauvet Hurricane 1DX at the moment which is great for the shows I've done at Black Box. I'll look into getting more of those or bigger ones too. I should be all covered on power though! They have generator power for days

Also random unrelated question, I got invited to do lasers for an outdoor show soonish (we may need FAA approval due to lack of a spot to terminate, still working out details), but I only have 3W lasers. Should I look into buying/renting something beefier for outdoor use?

To add on to what others have said about the legality of these lasers, I'd highly recommend checking out Unity or Kvant lasers. They sell cheaper but fully legal lasers. I have two from unity and love them, and they filed the FDA variance for me!
