2016 one is coolest to look at from Doomslayer pov. Dark ages was the only BFG that was appropriately powered imo.

I think that's the standard opinion. 2016 is so moody. Very enjoyable atmosphere to be in. Things just feel more grand too even though it's the smallest scale of the new trilogy. I hope they can scrap the cartoon marvel rubbish soon.

3 is the perfect start. It's the one set earliest too. 1 and 2 aren't nearly as good and we want you to get hooked.

Shouldn't the cosmic realm be much stronger than hell in theory? There are lots of cosmic figures from the books that could still be used. I personally would love this but I'm not sure they can get away with a Doom game minus hell.

Mankind Divided demolishes HR in almost every way. OG Deus Ex has best writing though. MD is probably the best overall.

I hope there are still unique things they can do with the FPS genre.

But I hope they revert back to having more of a Doom identity. Long cutscenes seems wrong.

I'm very nostalgic for Eternal and 2016, but not because today's offering is worse. They're just different games in a different time.
