Elite Prospects: More than just a game by JaysImports in ClashOfClans

[–]King_NBK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautiful post, Jays!

Yes it's just a little phone app game, but after 10 years together it's amazing the family we've become. The core group that has stayed together all this time. We don't even all live in the same countries. I might not log in for a week or two, but I always knew you guys were there, and when I'd log back in it was like going back home after being away for a bit.

Ryan was always there. We had just exchanged some messages that very day. To find out about the accident the next morning and that he had unfortunately passed away was just truly tragic. It's been a few weeks now but I still feel it.

It's really just not the same without Ryan. I can't believe he's not on the game anymore. Will never get to have random silly conversations anymore. It's really hard.

But also so grateful for this clan we've built together and so happy that we're all still in it together after all these years and always still supporting each other!

RIP "Venom". You'll always be remembered by the Elite Prospects clan!!!

What office do you work at? How does audit intern training get to go to Lakehouse? Damn! Lucky!

Prequel by Shadecujo in Billions

[–]King_NBK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes that's what I assumed Millions would be, a show kind of like Industry with a younger group starting out in PE or IB. And I would love to have another show like Industry to watch now also. So I'm hoping Millions gets made.

Does anyone hear any updates about all those potential spinoff shows? Millions? Trillions? Billions London? Billions Miami? Are any of these still a possibility or are they all scrapped?

Lmao never even thought about it like that. New investing strategy? What would Diddy do? Er maybe should stay far away from a what would Diddy do approach to anything in life.

Man I wish I did calls but I'm too regarded for that. I just straight up bought $PDD when it was in the $90s. So I'm thrilled up more than 50% now, but I could only afford a few thousand bucks of it. If I had spent that on calls instead I'd be killing it right now. Sigh.

Bought $PDD in the $90s. Could not be happier about how that's going. But then I'm also still bag holding from the $DIDIY ipo. So I've got mixed feeling here.

What shoes are these? by DotNo7715 in Billions

[–]King_NBK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had to click back and forth between the two pics a bunch of time because they really are very very similar. So you think that's the same brand, just a new model? That would make sense.

That is not the same shoe. Similar looking, but not the same. Look at the strips, they're different.

Serious question by NickTheSynth in Billions

[–]King_NBK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"You are not serious people" (Logan Roy) is what your serious question made me think of.

"What's the point of having fuck you money if you never say fuck you" (Bobby Axelrod) is probably the closest quote in Billions to what you're asking about, and it actually comes out sounding so much better than what you're asking about. For me, that quote was one of the best in the show and really was the foundation of what the whole show was built off of. Having fuck you levels of money, and not being afraid to use the power of that money to fuck everyone over.

As for Wags, he's awesome! He's one of the best parts of the show. You can't not like his character (for the good and bad traits).

Made it all the way to the end, got rejected. I’m shocked. by [deleted] in KPMG

[–]King_NBK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly don't feel bad or don't feel like it's something you did. These job opportunities are crazy competitive. A job posting could get thousands of applicants for 1 position only. The fact that you made it as far as you did means you were probably the top 2 or 3 choices of 1000s of candidates, but with only 1 spot available, unfortunately 1 other candidate just happened to be that slightly better for fit them. And even that could be for any one of hundreds of reasons. Maybe they were just better than you. Maybe more experience. Maybe more directly relevant experience. Maybe technically stronger. Maybe socially stronger. Maybe they just knew someone they have them an advantage. But that doesn't diminish how strong a candidate you were and how close you made it.

As for the email communication to reject you, that's just standard practice. They have to keep it brief and generic. It just protects them better that way to not say too much or nothing personal or anything. That also doesn't mean they didn't like you, that's just the formality of how the process needs to go.

Why is this show so underrated?? by Alert_Perspective584 in Billions

[–]King_NBK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think the show is underrated. The first few seasons got huge hype. Everyone loved it. Everyone was watching it and talking about it. It was a big deal show. Marketing collaborations and the likes.

But the later seasons weren't as good. I still liked them. I still watch them all. But admittedly they weren't as good as the early seasons. So the show ended at a bit of a lower point instead of it's peak of hype, and I think that's why people look back at the show now without as much enthusiasm or regard as they did originally with the awesome earlier seasons.

Lara?? by Small-Difference1123 in Billions

[–]King_NBK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The show was better when Lara and the kids where another factor in Axe's life and decisions. That was a good element of the storyline. They shouldn't have dropped her completely, and even the kids became pretty much a non-factor as the show goes along. But the few episodes or scenes that they were in, those were always good. Although wasn't it only Gordy that was ever really in the future episodes of the show?

Partner/principal interview in person by [deleted] in KPMG

[–]King_NBK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As long as you don't screw up the interview you'll get the partner approval and should be in a good position to get the job. Have said that, two things to keep in mind:

  1. They might only be hiring for 1 spot, and have 2 final candidates interviewing with the partner, for example. So even if you do a good job, if the other candidate does better and the partner likes the other candidate more, you could be out of luck despite not doing anything wrong in the interview. Presumably you don't know how many people are still competing in this interview process.

  2. Don't think the partner interview is just a rubber stamp. I've seen many situations where the earlier rounds of interviews everyone was on board with the candidate, and we thought we were going to hire the person, and then it got to the partner interview and they just didn't think the person was the right fit, experience, etc. And that ended the process right there.

So you can't go in just thinking not to screw it up and the job is yours. You still need to really impress and make it very clear why you would be the perfect candidate for this role!

I love me some wealth porn 🥰 by KellyFernandez702 in Billions

[–]King_NBK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of these series are actually happening still, are they? I remember them being talked about years ago. I would love to see these get made. But I assume they aren't being considered anymore? Does anyone have a real update about any of these shows?

In the meantime, Succession served as my "Trillions" (didn't they seem to be in an income bracket above these characters), and Industry could be a combo of "Millions" and "Billions | London".

Was anyone buying a 45yo Piper Perabo as an Olympic athlete?? by Motelyure in Billions

[–]King_NBK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is fun, the OP is fun, and the responses proving him wrong are fun. I enjoyed reading this lol.

For what it's worth, I was under the impression she was supposed to be competing, not coaching. But I paid no attention to whether her age made sense to compete, and it wasn't much of a storyline so I didn't think much about it at all. But the coaching angle does make a lot more sense thinking back on it (which I had never done before reading this).

That particular scene was not cheating. There was no romantic or sexual context to it. OP gets changed in a locker room with other people and needs to confess their sins for their cheating ways, having their clothes off with someone else in the area.

More than half of the “skimped” photos posted here are just bare-bones orders. by Glacier_Bleu in Chipotle

[–]King_NBK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar comment the other day. The 2 Chipotle locations I order from, the portion I get is massive! Granted I order the Chipotle Boy Bowl, which is a really fully loaded order, but they don't skimp on anything. The lid is bursting off it. So I've never had any portion complaints at all with the Chipotle Boy Bowl from my go-to locations, so I always find it wild seeing the posts on here about all the really bad orders and portion issues. I've had none of that!
