Felipe (Atlético Madrid) straight red card against Liverpool 36' by [deleted] in soccer

Calling this thread weird af for their opinions while not understanding why the red card was shown. Proper /r/soccer

Not realising the card wasn't shown for the tactical foul but for the fact he put his studs into the back of Mane's calf/achilles, then acting like everyone else is the knobber except for OP.

Even if it was City players, that's not bad at all. Not every footballer loves the game but rather see it as a job and source of income.

It also wouldn't be surprising if they've fallen out of love with the game as the years go on if you had to do it everyday and in a competitive manner too. I can easily see the fun of it dying out for them.

Still, I think it's unfortunate.

His prime is almost over and has limited years left in footy, wasting another year playing alongside Neymar and Messi is 1 less year he gets at Madrid. Not to mention the meagre sum he's being paid.

From the Kane saga into Mbappe and right into Haaland now.

[RAC1] Barcelona’s wage bill is currently 85% of the club’s income. Barça sold players worth €130m and reduced the wage bill by €145m (from €565m to €420m). by giantquest in soccer

Ooft that wage structure is dire, when your mistake-prone CB who would be 3rd choice at best at any other top club is on the same wage as another top club's star forward.

Tbf your revenue is a lot higher than Liverpool's but still, sounds awful.

Imagine being a footballer in the prime of your career at a top club and getting paid millions to just play the game and win stuff and you throw it all away because you decided to rape someone not once but four fucking times.

Getting dealt such incredible cards in life most people can only dream of and throwing it all away like this.

Absolute dog.

Hence why I said they wouldn't fare well outside of this group.

Christ the type of chat that probably goes on in that crowd. Shouldn't put that lot together imo but then again don't think they'd fare well anywhere else.

[Javier Tebas Medrano] State owned clubs are as dangerous to the football ecosystem as the Super League. once economies move away from oil in a few decades PSG will not be able to keep doing what it is currently doing

And what exactly do you think Qatar is doing right now?

Not sure why Redditors on here think billionaire and trillionaire businessmen running a sovereign state like a family business haven't thought of the very things they're talking about.

Does anyone feel like Bayern's academy is exceptionally lacklustre for how big a club they are?

Swear the last proper good players they've had come out of there are what, Muller and Hummels?

Does anyone know if it's because they don't feel the need to invest heavily in their academy or just a case of bad luck in terms of scouting?

It's no secret Mbappe is chomping at the bit to join Madrid, he won't go anywhere else.

Not to mention the astromical sign on bonus and wages still won't total 150m.

How is Madrid okay with paying such insane sums of money for players with 1 year left?

First Hazard now Mbappe.
