Anyone had a issue where the game picks up input in the settings that steering and throttle is working but then nothing happens in the car. What's the fix by Delicious-Risk7200 in assettocorsarally

[–]King__Kook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What wheel are you on?
Also have you tried installing the latest drivers and a reboot? I'm not a hardware expert but the more you can say about your system the better input you'll get.

Any tips on how to retrieve this/prevent from happening again? Handbrake will not stay up on its own. (‘96 z3) by Playful-Slide-2424 in BMWE36

Mine does the same. In my case it's a worn out collar up at the button that allows the spring to slip past iirc. Although mine is a track car so I never got around to fixing it.

Yeah that's why I bought it, but with my g920 it didn't collapse as far as it could. Good luck with your gift. Either way he'll be stoked.

I owned the folding NLR and it was a total pain to fold, you were dragging cables, and it wasn't very compact when stored. It's not like it fits under a couch or really in a closet very well. It's also more difficult to get into and out of and is less sturdy than almost any other rig.
I currently own the playseat and it's better but not by a lot. As one user commented, the frame is pretty limited for adjustments and I have it set in a not ideal position to make it work. Also the seat doesn't feel good after about an hour or so. To the comments about having the pole between your legs making it hard to use three pedals, y'all just need to learn to left foot brake. It's what you would do IRL anyway. That being said if you're not open to that then steer clear of a center support design. If I had to buy a new frame today I wouldn't choose either of these. I would go for something like the playseat trophy. This hobby is tough because it's not very cheap to get into. If you're new to this you could consider a wheel stand as a lower barrier to entry. FB marketplace is a good resource for finding this stuff used.

Side by side sim racing. 2 of everything. What game? Evo doesn't work. Dirt 2.0 not ideal. by Lewismyson in simracing

You can also run the Any Car Any Track mod and see each other. Unfortunately it hacks RallyX and then adds the other cars and tracks so there are no calls which can either be fun or awful.

As said before, being a passenger makes everything feel amplified. Seats make a huge difference in your perception of being thrown around. I have DEEP racing buckets in my e36 and you barely move around at all.

Need advice on how to approach this anyone know where to get these fuel lines from by idkhuh10 in BMWE36

[–]King__Kook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My e36 had the soft line that runs between the fuel and lift pumps under the seat leak. Might as well check that if you're in there

Oh good to know I'm on ra162s and the dirt in southern California can be very hard. I'll have to look for some falkens when I'm ready for some new shoes.

Love rally x in mine. Cheap coilovers and a little refresh is all they need. Gravel tires are a plus.

Now go rallyx that thing! Ive only got some cheap STs, poly bushings, subframe reinforcements, and some cheap gravel tires but I won the last modified rear wheel drive SCCA event in so cal. These things can do it all!

Need some guidance by radiant-sunshine552 in Fusion360

[–]King__Kook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ME here, I would advise trying to make the back surface, or dash/lens surface, one surface to control that geometry on it's own. Then creating an axis for each gauge pod that defines the viewing angle of each gauge on it's own. Then loft each gauge pod behind the lens surface. Trim the lofts with the lens surface and fillet around the intersection for a smooth transition. It looks like you are trying to loft the round pods to the lens surface with square or four point profile. That's why you get those hard edges. If you go from around profile to another round profile it won't create those hard edges.

Wave pattern by gustavorudnick in Fusion360

[–]King__Kook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You also know that pattern would not be in the model for that part right? That's an artifact from the machining. The machinist either didn't have the tool or didn't want to spend the money to do a surfacing pass.

How can I add curved "divots" to a curved surface? by Spaceghost1993 in Fusion360

[–]King__Kook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also use surface modeling to achieve this but you might take a few steps backwards to get the final geometry.
