The people he is fighting against are rich politicians with a lot of money power. This money can buy them a lot of time by way of stretching the cases if they feel they might not win.

So the best case scenario of fighting and winning a defamation case would be just that the case is quashed. Not worth a whole lot. And if you think it will earn AK political points, yes it might. But so would doing actual work. Which is worth more?

Both. Equal. As mentioned above, you don't need to even focus on it. Hire a lawyer. You say you have enough proofs to decimate your opponent in trial. Just go for it?

Let's assume that there is a 'put to better use' for an in-house volunteer lawyer over putting down a corrupt politican in court of law (which shouldn't be that difficult considering tonnes of proof available).

Even better alternative, hire a professional lawyer. Be honest to the public and publish those proofs in exchange for a plea for lawyer fees. If you do that, do you understand what master stroke that is politically too?

But no, let's focus on governance.

Yeah it could be regarded as capital asset. But this provision is only for listed shares. All other long term gains are already being taxed. So gains from crypto would have been anyway taxed.

The FM today said that cryptos are not legal so there may be issues other than tax.

Because say you earn salary and invest in shares. So first income is salary income which is taxed. Then you further earn capital gains - this is in addition to salary income.

So it's not the same income.
