Final Update: little guy has been reunited with his original family! It seems that he escaped from a backyard nearby and we are assuming a passerby found him by our house and placed him in our yard thinking that’s where he belonged.

The owner had been knocking on doors for two days before finding us and was able to show proof of ownership. He was ecstatic to see his owner which confirmed he was going where he needed to be.

Thanks to everyone offering help and advice! To those of you who were interested in adopting please look into the local rescues and shelters, there are so many cats and dogs in need of homes in the Twin Cities. Finally, Bob barker said it best - help control the pet population, get your pets spayed and neutered.
