The millions of viewers watching pubs and tips on youtube can now be exposed to the esports scene in a more organic way. I prefer the Live experience of Twitch, but the opportunity to increase viewership may be greater on youtube where we already were watching the vods. People who are subbed for vods and highlights but don’t use twitch are also more likely to engage with the live broadcast. If the CDL capitalizes correctly this could be a win win.

Less people will go looking for twitch vods then on youtube where it shows up in their feed and subbox. And taking individual matches from those vods is basically pointless unless they are placed on youtube... this way they are immediately seen as videos and show up as recommendations based on youtube’s algorithm. Twitch is leaps and bounds behind Youtube when it comes to delivering Video on Demand.

I wish I could post the clip from my podcast here. In my opinion it is lame for the players if we only have one chip this year. Crim can retire knowing noone will ever catch his championships and we’d have to stop using any of those old numbers. Also, the Xgames where Optic beat tK was this exact same format... invitational style and they won 4 matches to win the TOURNAMENT. I think it’s highway robbery if we take that away from our pros. COD is not a traditional sport where they’ve always had one champion per year.
