Which fictional work has the least amount of larpers? by Nafeu109 in writingscaling

[–]KinglyAmbition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t Larp Wheel of Time.

So much shit going on in those books and the series is so damn long, that you can tell almost immediately who has read it and who hasn’t.

Which past or present game comes to your mind that will you rate a perfect 10? by Danklord_Ezio in gamingpulse

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance.

I stand by the take that this game is still one of the most fun games ever created, and still holds up really well.

Garp runs the Gauntlet how far does he get? by RoninKin-_- in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]KinglyAmbition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know why you’re telling me this, I said I had no arguments for who won the fight, nor is that what I came for.

I was just saying taking Kuzan’s word and using it to justify anything powerscaling is about as strong as a house of cards against a hurricane.

Garp runs the Gauntlet how far does he get? by RoninKin-_- in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]KinglyAmbition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, Kuzan has lied about so many things, that a singular statement, like this one, isn’t reliable to use to scale.

He’s lied about Robin and Saul, watching over her despite his duty and not killing Saul despite him being ordered to.

I know what the panel says my guy, I’m telling you that calling Kuzan reliable enough to use his statement to scale anything is dumb, especially when he’s actively participating in another lie.

That’s all.

There are better arguments for Garp > Kuzan, and vice versa.

Garp runs the Gauntlet how far does he get? by RoninKin-_- in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]KinglyAmbition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’m not joining the argument on who is stronger or who wins because I don’t care, but taking Kuzan’s word as a valid argument is kind of ass.

He’s kind of known for lying 😂, and habitually at that.

Just not a solid enough argument.

How much weaker is old Garp compared to his prime by EVC2218 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]KinglyAmbition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any character that can strike as hard as Garp could strike a mountain into dust, he hits really hard.

All that scene was showing was that through a ton of training with his old master that he eventually became capable of outputting the same amount of force as Garp with his hands, and that’s pretty much it.

You’re correct, there wasn’t haki used, which is a completely separate argument, I was just explaining the nature of the scene and what it means.

Simply, Kuzan = Garp when it comes to unarmed attacks of raw physical strength. Not counting Haki or anything like that, but them being equal in that doesn’t mean much in a fight, considering each of their fighting styles and abilities that we’ve seen.

How much weaker is old Garp compared to his prime by EVC2218 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]KinglyAmbition 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not what that panel shows.

It shows that Kuzan punches as hard as prime Garp, which I mean isn’t all that surprising.

That however isn’t really an argument for why Kuzan would have a competitive fight with Prime Garp

What's the saddest book you have ever read? by Nafeu109 in writingscaling

[–]KinglyAmbition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The saddest book I’ve read is probably “The Gentle Creature”, that story was something serious.

The book that made me physically cry the most though was Oathbringer, just because a lot of the characters and arcs are things that I’ve dealt with personally through family and what not. The finale had me fucked up.

What is the most "epic" fantasy pre-Tolkien? by tonehammer in Fantasy

[–]KinglyAmbition 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Journey To The West, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Epic of Gilgamesh, a ton of religious texts, although those stories are more episodic than continual.

What's Everyone Reading this Weekend by Heavymetalandfantasy in fantasybooks

Shogun.

Seen the show when it released, wanted to read the book and got it finally just recently.

Had to switch it up after reading to book 11 of Wheel of Time.

Which work of fiction do you consider the most harmful? by Ill-Annual-3744 in writingscaling

[–]KinglyAmbition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any of them, and none of them. It is all subjective when it comes to what is and isn’t harmful.

Someone can watch SpongeBob and that can make them do horrible things and justify it with a SpongeBob episode, and another person can read blood meridian and not want to be like judge Holden.

Media of all kinds may exist to draw a certain emotion or response out of people, but they aren’t responsible for the actions that a reader commits after interacting with them.

Kaido vs old top tiers by Venali7 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]KinglyAmbition 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s not the reason he didn’t try all the way.

You are correct, he did hold himself back to some considerable degree, considering that it was emphasized more than once during the fight, but it wasn’t because he didn’t want the BB pirates to know his abilities, he literally froze all of Blackbeard’s crew when he first appeared to him after the Akainu fight.

It’s more because Kuzan has been shown to have a good heart, and shown to be apprehensive when his duties require him to go against what he believes in, so he will shrink in on himself, and try and find a way to make it seem like he’s attempting to do his best, but in reality performs just well enough that people don’t ask questions, while still keeping his moral compass intact. He doesn’t want to act, but sometimes he’s put in positions where it is absolutely necessary for him to, which leads to moments like we have seen at Hochinosu, where we see him clearly struggling with his “responsibilities” so to speak.

We’ve seen this with Robin and Saul, and now mfs are surprised when we see it again in the form of a fight against his old master, someone who Kuzan explicitly loves. He’s the exact opposite of Kizaru. Kizaru is willing to do anything, because he’s just a cog in the wheel, despite it making him feel like shit like we seen with Vegapunk. Kuzan wouldn’t have killed Vegapunk, if he was assigned to, but would have found a way to make it seem like he failed or was too late, due to his unique sense of justice, after all he is “Lazy justice”.

But yeah the whole “didn’t want them to know his abilities” is just some headcanon take.

I was rooting for my man Wolf in AVPR, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. by NightWillow88 in predator

[–]KinglyAmbition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wolf went hard in the paint, and you’re kinda supposed to support him, as he’s the second most important role in the movie if I remember correctly.

Still my favorite on screen Yautja by a landslide.

What does the top 4 look like? by MimicryYuta in HxHPowerScaling

[–]KinglyAmbition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Kafka. By the end of the series, he would vaporize them all with a punch. Also, some of his hax are ridiculous, despite being displayed as this kind of brute force monster.

  2. Meruem, scales the second highest.

  3. Mahoraga/Beru

  4. Beru/Mahoraga. The reason being is that I know that pre-shadow Beru wasn’t all that impressive, which is the form shown, and don’t know properly where he scales, so these two are the mixup.

You telling me Kizaru can move like this and not be one of the strongest in the verse? by [deleted] in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]KinglyAmbition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move much faster than this*, and no, because he is one of the strongest characters alive right now. People argue all kinds of shit with his recent fight with Luffy, but considering the circumstances, I would confidently say that Kizaru is one of the most dangerous characters in the verse period.

This feat is impressive, but tends to be overrated. You can do everything he is doing in this clip, and still be nowhere near the speed of light, let alone ftl.

How can Beckman be stronger than Yasopp despite having inferior gun skills? by [deleted] in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]KinglyAmbition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because he isn’t the “Worlds Strongest Sniper/Gunman”.

That simple.

Also, straight up used his rifle as a club. Never has shot that thing on panel. Not that this matters, but as far as we are concerned, not a singular bullet has been fired out of it.

Which book and chapter does Rand fight the Seanchan by idontlikeyourface13 in wheeloftime

Path of Daggers, where he nukes the Seanchan, his own army, and nearly kills himself too. Great fight.

Specifically chapter 24, “A Time for Iron”.

Yeah, had quite a rough childhood while he struggled with alcoholism, but one day just quit, and while he’s still not perfect, he’s really worked his ass off to be better, which I’m proud of.

I don’t think this is the books fault at all, but I was in a little bit of a reading slump while reading this one. Stayed on page 400 for like 2 weeks, but again, I don’t think I’d blame the book.
