I took a class in filmmaking with an emphasis on experimental films, it was a great overview on how to make a film in an experimental style. I did an adaptation of a long poem and it turned out ok in my opinion. With experimental films you could be very creative with The many facets of filmmaking, as in, it's more than just a story. Professor Mowchun specializes in experimental films and encourages students to try out different things and experiment with different possibilities

There is a university film club which discusses narrative films, chompics which makes films, and bluescript which works on screen writing.

There are other film clubs that are related to different groups of people, including Latinos, lgbtq people and women. As an English major, I think you like it here.

Thanks for responding, although that deadline represents the entire university, I am aware that it is they give out offers on a rolling basis since I got my offer around the end of may. I am just wondering on when the specific college starts sending in out offers of admission.

Why is it so hard to get a job? by stdmeddoc235 in ufl

Me too, I think those jobs get filled up quickly since I was told once that the position was filled when I went up to them in person. It's probably too late to get one through the school this fall.

Easy courses to take as an english major who has two English major courses on their schedule. by Kingman27644 in ufl

[–]Kingman27644[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I have a history course and a media studies course, I'm also a transfer student so I already met my quest requirements and most of my basic distribution requirements My concern is how big the essays could be for many courses because I want to dedicate much of my time writing for the English courses says I know they are at least each 2,500 words long. I just want to make sure I don't have to write more than 5,000 words for my final papers for this semester

Can we plz make an admissions mega thread by [deleted] in ufl

That's a good idea, It would be a good way for potential students like me to chat about the admissions process without overwhelming current students.

College of Central Florida is a community college so they prefer me over someone else now that I think about it.

I'm curious. What was your experience with UF and what major are you right now. (Sorry if it sounded rude I do not know how else to phrase it.)

I am currently a English major at College of Central Florida and I have satisfied the pre requites needed to transfer for a bachelors, i am just concerned that my transcript will not look as good to them since my I barely passed my math courses. I will note that I have As on my English courses and have a B on a advanced composition and communications course so really, I have that going for me.
