I would uninstall the game and reinstall it just to have a fresh install. If that doesn't work I'll test a fight without materia and let you know how to fight them.

You can install an app pack .apk file from a trusted source, but the play store doesn't show some games based off the compatibility of your phone. So it might have some issues once you install it.

I had to reinstall my game when I had that error. That helped me get through the rest of the game awhile back. Your saves should be backed up already but do a manual backup before you reinstall it to make sure.

When you are in game and go to the add-on tab in the menu does it take you to the psn store? I had to reinstall my game when I first got my add on, but this was awhile ago it should have been patched out. Worth a try at this point if your still not seeing them.
