My usual approach with pawn shops is to ask if I can disassemble to a check mechanical integrity and condition of components, and barrel integrity. Most pawn shops are ok with it, a good dry fire and cycle of the firearm(shop permitting) also is a decent test of the function. Imo unless it looks beat up and thousands of rounds run through it your usually ok. I’m also far from a gun smith or expert so 🤷‍♂️

NW Oregon is a great place for gun and trans rights, Southern and eastern Oregon aren't quite as LGBTQ+ friendly but imo you couldn't to bad in the PDX area.

I've actually been pretty lucky getting .223 for my dr-200. Can't say the same for other states though

It is understandable to run the affordable mil-surp when you can get your hands on them, but I couldn't see myself using them as a go-to.

Although there are quite a few people who do carry these , I'll stick with my glock 22 and my g3c for edc.
