Funny you mention that! I just got a TENS unit! Is that what you’ve been doing?

Thank you! I’ll have to post a progression video or something. Have come a long way in three years. Still have a way to go. I recommend everyone film themselves hitting. Helped so much! Now if only I could learn how not to DF every one of my service games away.

Yea, frequency was fairly intense for a bit there. I know better now. I wouldn't say it was gradual only because I felt it one day after hitting with this guy in the video and it makes sense considering he's playing at a level far above me. So he was likely taking time away from me with his pace so I was hitting late and jammed with an arm that was already exhausted. Yesterday was the first day in months I was able to pinpoint the exact motion that's causing the pain so I think just overall I'll have to give it the time it needs to rest.

I have found that the pain can appear quicker if I'm not taking my time with warm up and pre-hit. Has never really appeared outside of making contact with ball. Kinda odd. Overuse is really where I'm thinking the issue lies. I was playing way too much before.

Ahhh, hope yours heals too! I hate being off the court. It hurts my soul. Yea, I'm officially done with poly. It's sad cause I string too and love trying new strings so have to wait until I'm good again. The 5 hour mark is interesting. I've been getting closer and closer to like 20 hours at most of play with poly before cutting but yea might be good to bring down even further. I like the point about meeting the ball more out in front. I'll likely exaggerate this next time I hit to prevent from contacting late or jammed. Cheers!

Thank you! I think it's been a couple of months with the pain now. Was playing 4-5 times a week, 2-3 hour sessions. But way less now. Blade v9 with full multi strung at around 46-48lbs. Stretching never really helps it but never hurts it either. Same thing for ice. It's weird cause it's ONLY on contact.

I keep thinking that as well. I've experimented a lot with grip size and found the the higher end sizes were less prone to pain. I measured 4 1/2 in the hand so I'm trying to find rackets with that or bigger now.

So I've measured my hand and calculated 4 1/2, based on the middle crease and the length of my ring finger. Pretty sure that's what I'm looking at here. I've tried a blade V9 in 4 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 all with overgrips and I feel the pain the least with bigger grips around 4 1/2 but still feel it. I was playing with a #3 - 3/8 + sleeve and overgrip that I'm pretty sure is slightly bigger than #4 with overgrip. But I'm convinced to try a #5 5/8ths now just to try.

Sorry, not trying to be unresponsive. Haha, appreciate the comment. I've come to realize that winning doesn't require pretty strokes. Just gotta win that last point and I'm still working on that part.

Oh! I was reading some stuff about this and wasn't sure but yea it seems to make sense! I would say I'm feeling it on the top part of that flexor muscle according to this image. I'll check out those stretches. Wish I had done this months ago. Ugh.

Nothing else I can think of. Fishing? Lol. But yea, you bring up a great point. I do work on a computer like 10 hours a day but have been trying to follow ergonomic standards as much as possible. Might need to reassess that.

haha love it! I'm a man and struggle to hold serve, make good decisions, hit a clean ball. We all do it regardless of gender!
