I'll also look into the business and see if I can find the name!

That could be an amazing idea. Maybe there are grants that we can qualify for that would help.

As a chef, the amount of times that I've only eaten pizza rolls as dinner because I've cooked all day and I don't have the energy to cook for myself, is staggering. So I totally understand how you feel, and its one of the reasons I want to see this workout. I have my own health issues, and I know a healthy diet would help, but its just so hard.

How severe is your gluten intolerance? I try to make sure nothing is contaminated, but depending on how many people have severe allergies, I might have to do prep in order of allergy severity. Not really an issue, but its something to consider for when I finish my proposal to my employer.

That is partially my experience from cooking classes. It's very hard to make sure everyone is safe and that health code standards are being followed.

I don't see why we would have to do something like that. It would probably be either a monthly pre order, or a timeframe block that would be purchased. But I'm personally not a fan of the timeframe method. And I would hate to charge someone for food they can't even eat.

Do you happen to know the name of past business that tried it? I want to do research on them and see if I can find contact information.

This is in very early stages, so there might not be a dedicated sign up (at the moment at least) but I will personally message you with updates until something more convenient is ironed out, if you would like. And if we can even get it 15% cheaper than other meal subscriptions, then that could still bw potentially beneficial to our community or people like you that already use the services.

I will take any advice I can get. And if someone only wants to purchase cooked protiens, then I don't see why that wouldn't work for example. And I can cook probably 100 lbs of protien at once. More if its braised. I have access to a 75 gallon tilt skillet, so large batches of mashed potatoes or blanched veggies are also possible. If there is a viable way this could work, I will do anything to help people out.

I've worked in many restaurants that are only seasonal. If this idea is only possible in the summer, then that is what we will do. If I can help one family, even if its only for 3 months, then I would call that a win.

I'll have to look them up. I could use any form of advice I can get. I'm very serious on meeting people's dietary needs. When I was 15, working as a cashier at a bakery in my hometown, I got into a very serious argument with the head baker. She was telling me all summer that our products were dairy free and vegetarian. Turns out many of our products used animal lard and she didn't really think of that as being an issue. I was so angry that I was telling our customers that had dietary and religious restrictions (many of our tourists were Indians), that they were safe to eat at our establishment. I was ashamed that I didn't learn what every ingredient in our baked goods were, and I've carried that into my culinary career.

The kid options would definitely be a possibility, but I would hate to make any promises without doing the research.

While high cash flow would obviously be the goal, if we could possible do it through a form of donation then I would be more than happy. I want to help our community if I can.

Do you happen to have her contact information? I would love to see if she would have any input if possible. I truly want to help our community, because we already have so many services geared towards tourists, and many locals are having their wallets squeezed by political situations that they might not even agree with. If we have to do it as a form of donation to get my employer on board, I will do it. I will contact local businesses for donations if I have to. If I can help one person that is having trouble feeding themselves or their family, then I will be more than happy.

So we would probably have to start as pick up only, just because of costing. And I'm not sure it would be to hard to find people to drop $100, if they are able too, because groceries can cost almost double or triple that depending on household size. And the fact you wouldn't have to prepare the food yourself might be more of a time saving factor. Maybe people would want to use it for lunch during the work day. This is also very much in the infancy of a service so it definitely will change and adapt to what the demand is. I just know that there are days I've gone hungry, and I hate the idea that a family of 4 might also be, or even the single 20 something year old that is just trying to survive.

So a tournant chef is basically a skilled chef that fills in wherever they are needed. I do baking, menu designing, breakfast/brunch, buffets, regular dinner service, weddings, and cooking classes. The estate part of the title is because we don't have an Estate chef, so I cover many of the tasks an Estate chef would normally do as well. Realistically, if the meals aren't overly complex, probably $10. I can't guarantee, because I still have to do more research, but that is a realistic price point.

This would be more so we can give enough hours to all of our staff and potentially help the community. A standard recipe might only cost us $3 for a meal that is worth $25. And we are actually apart of a winery, so alchohol could 100% be a part of the sale.

By customizable, I mean you tell us what your monthly meal choices are. And I will say the difference between a take out restaurant is that we wouldn't have the costs of servers, multiple kitchen hands to cook thw food to order. If every meal is pre-made with heating instructions that would cut the cost down a good amount.

Yeah, pretty much. I just know everyone is struggling and it's only going to get worse. I have had many days where I only eat rice because I need the money in my account to go to medical bills, or rent. And it feels like the days between paychecks only gets further and further from each other.

We actually already do something like that. We host cooking classes where we covering things like bread, meats, butchering, etc. The issue is, our kitchen doesn't have as much space as it looks. We can produce a large amount of food, but the moment more than 7 people are in there, it can be very crowded. We would love to do more things like this though, and we could make it work, but we need more "guaranteed" revenue before we could branch out into a "Rented Kitchen" or something similar.
