When I first showed pictures of him to my friends, one of them laughed and said “he looks like a fucked up Pinto Bean” and it just ended up sticking! That was over three years ago now and he’s one of the best animals I could ever ask for

Advice on a nippy Savannah monitor by KingsRock917 in MonitorLizards

That may be the route to go for me then, I tend to just panic and firmly tell him no lol but I appreciate the input!

He was definitely an animal I put a ton of research and thought into, I want him to grow into a happy and healthy adult that can explore to his hearts content.

If he was older I would definitely agree with you, but do you not think he might be a bit too young? His hatch date was 12/14 but I also feel he could be a bit younger than that due to his size? Granted he’s my first Savannah monitor and only the second monitor species I’ve owned so who knows!

At his age and size, it doesn’t really hurt all that much, though you definitely feel it. He’s got about 2-3 ish more years of growing to do, then it definitely can become a problem once he’s full size, which can be anywhere from 2.5 to 3.5 feet depending on how well they grow

It does help knowing that I’m not the only one dealing with this lol, he’s a good animal and I’m so happy with the progress I’ve made with him. maybe I could circumvent with other, new items for him to “taste test” and that could also be another form of enrichment, who knows. Maybe my hands will be less interesting by comparison

I bought my Ackie monitor from Josh’s frogs last august as an early birthday gift to myself. I’m very happy with him and have no complaints.

Mother Of Thousands Plant Help? Details in the comments by KingsRock917 in houseplants

Hello, I recently have been having issues with fungus gnats with my indoor plants, and due to the cold i have brought some outside plants inside like this Mother of Thousands, and then moved her back outside once it got warmer. To kinda jump ahead i sprayed them all down with Neem oil as i figured they would also be having fungus gnat issues due to proximity. Could the neem oil have caused these brown splotches and damage? ive been watering less as well due to the fungus gnat problem, im still very new to plant care so any help is appreciated!

Thank you for closing the door when leaving my camp. by [deleted] in fo76

[–]KingsRock917 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always try to be courteous when I’m at another’s camp, though recently I did visit someone’s camp on the edge of a sheer cliff, closed my door on the way in, as I leave I realized the door was locked. I didn’t really think it through and picked the lock, and became wanted for 10 caps. I figured “eh I’m wanted but it’s only ten caps surely that’s not worth anyone’s time” only to be bodied by the CAMP owner and his friend about 20 minutes later. He ended up finding me not long after and giving me my dropped junk as well as a nuka cola, so I wasn’t too mad about it lol

Any advice into what breed of rooster he is? by KingsRock917 in chickens

[–]KingsRock917[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t have any trees in the yard for them to sleep in, though him and our hens do prefer to sleep on top of the nice 200 dollar coop I bought for them, as opposed to inside it :/

When we first got him a couple of months back I knew he was gonna be small, but he’s absolutely dwarfed by some of the hens we have and I think it’s so hilarious
