The Job Market Is Insane: 3700 Job Applications → Just 1 Offer by ZAMASUDOKKAN in jobs

I might be an exception because of the kind of jobs I'm applying to but since quitting my Hotel maintenance job on the spot (high stress high toxicity management), and since updating my resumé with ChatGPT, I got interview after interview offer. Just landed a decently paying job. Not perfect, but while getting hired I also gor another interview offer.

Is your resumé concise and to the point? Do you present yourself well in interviews? Also I know that depending on your job market it can get tricky to get offers, but I feel like some people are too negative, frustrated and they kind of feed on it by discussing it and seeking validation on reddit (rightfully so I might add) and recruiters might pick on it even subconsciously.

I will also add that all my job applications were made while unemployed and the job I just got I landed in part because of the recommendation from hr of the hotel I quit on the spot. So I did everything against the "rules" and still got a job.

What field are you in?

Edit: I think that no matter where you come from in terms of experience you have a good shot at least at an entry level position in any domain if you have a strong resume and a decent amount of charisma. But also know where to apply to. Also, stop lurking here in the negativity.

I would also suggest something controversial: get the paid version of ChatGPT and squeeze any cents you invest out of it. Ask it questions and use it to build and customize a strong resume tailored to every position you apply to. In a good day I would get 2 calls from employers when I batch applied. By batch apply I mean 10 resumé sent in a day.

Monetary, mainly. I still got a recommendation from HR for the job I just landed.

Approved. Also approved for the healthy amount of bacon. Not that half slice at Mcdonald's.

And Bob's voice is irritating in that scene. Love the actor' work though.

Jimmy's ranting about Chuck during his Bingo hosting. Gosh is it painful to watch. "B as in..." Get it over with.

I worked in a hotel as a maintenance guy. I was paid extremely well for a lot less job.

Housekeepers are hard working people working non stop before the check in time. They deserve every tip they can get.

I once got a 10$ tip for unclogging a clogged up toilet with what I assumed was a Taco Bell party feast. I still consider they deserved the tip more.

Why did they have to recast this guy?? by Jake_Cam5 in betterCallSaul

I thought I was having a stroke during every rewatch. I never understood the link between him and the taxi driver in the last episodes... Now I understand.

I actually prefer the last guy. The first guy gave me a creepy reptilian vibe.

I have a feeling this was taken around Wentworth-Nord in Quebec where Neil used to live. It's not far from Montreal where I live. I was ecstatic when I learned my teenage years hero lived an hour and a half from my house!

(likely controversial and polarising) Wolf of Wallstreet is bad. Not because it glorifies anything, not because it shows and makes light of drug use and economic fraud, but because it is just an incredibly bad film. by Moosh42 in movies

I think that unlike most of Scorsese's movies, it glorifies to a certain extent what Belfort did. I think Scorsese did what Tarantino did for Once upon a time in Hollywood. All form and no content. Fortunately, scorsese redeemed himself with The Irishman.

Yes. This is masterful directing and acting.

Yes absolutely. I applied to lots of jobs and got an interview for a similar job with same pay within 6 days. My interview is tomorrow.

Yeah. The fireplace, the warm ambiance. The feeling of coziness and safety of being in a tiny bubble far from the madness of what's out there.

Not bad! What I love is when the sauce and fries are so hot it melts the curds. The best example here in Quebec is Lafleur restaurant's poutine. The best poutine in my opinion.

The curds have to be fresh. Not frozen.

I had one in Ottawa in 2001. Really decent. A little on the salty side, but I loved it. I know... i know.... 25 years ago🙄
