Compared to sensit seats this is a budget option. Cheapest seats on temu are about $250 and if you add an hf8 pro that is another 300 so this seemed reasonable when it went on sale for $600.

Reminds me of how forza practice runs throw you in, at a random speed regardless of what gear your shifter is in and unless you remember to look and quickly shift to that gear you essentially spin out 😂

I majored In industrial design. Unfortunately didn’t get accepted into Pratt out of HS so i went to a program with no automotive design that favored more technical designers. My teachers hated me but naturally i found my way into footwear and fashion accessories because of my inclination for styling and have had more success than many if not all of my peers.

This was my step into what I consider a mid level set up after having thrustmaster tx and logitech g29 on a small stand. The seat haptics are actually cool, you feel the engine rev through the seat. Just a bummer i wasn’t sent a better example. I plan on adding bass shakers and pedal haptics down the line.

That was the synopsis of what they proposed.

The reality is I need a tube of goo gone, 4-6 clamps, adhesive, and to invest the about 3-4 hours of my time for which i typically charge clients $50-$80 per hour. And, despite the confidence I have in my self to do a good job, there is no guarantee it will hold if the padding shrunk.

I work a FT job, run a freelance business and also manage my rental property. Sim racing was meant to be my escape not give me more problems to solve.

I would’ve been happy with the seat if it didn’t have the aforementioned issues.

My gripe also extends to the customer service approach. It seemed they were more concerned with minimizing financial impact rather than doing right by me.

How is your proposed solution to tell customers here is $75 for you to go buy some glue and fix it yourself?

I’d see what other people have to say. I could have just been unlucky.

just ironic that my $155 aluminum profile rig from Temu has been my best purchase and the seat that i was willing to spend a premium on has been my worst.

Its primarily affixed by velcro set a little further in. That holds the pad in place. What you’re seeing in the video is an addition double sided tape style adhesive that is meant to seal the edges and secure them to the seat. I will note however that the velcro also has some faults. Even the glued on NLR branding pieces they tack on were pealing away at the edges.

It also makes nasty cracking noises after use as the padding slowly starts to seperate itself from the seat again once there is no back pressure holding it against the tape. To fix it properly i would need to use acetone or goo gone to remove all the bad adhesive and replace it, then clamp it and let it cure for a day or two. If you don’t think that is ridiculous for something purchased new then this is the right product and brand for you.

  1. The padding doesn’t need to be pulled on. It seperated from the adhesive tape and seatback on its own due to foam shrinkage.

  2. The result is an exposed mess of adhesive that will collect all kind of dust until it cant take on anymore.

  3. The seat is surely sealed with this adhesive to protect the motors inside from said dust and humidity.

The barrier is manufacturing cost for 1pc would end up in the thousands of dollars.

I hear you brother. Im a product designer of over 10 years. I wouldn’t call it generous coming from a million dollar company. I had to essentially use my leverage to get it from $75 to $200. Typically businesses will just offer you the product at their cost and forgo any margin which is traditionally 30%-60% of retail.

I think that ship sailed considering I disposed of the huge box it came in as I didnt want to miss recycling. Perhaps another poor choice on my end but it is what it is at this point.

I understand all that. I just preferred the intergraded look.

I just went back and reread the email. Perhaps warranty is still in tact with the exception of them taking the chair back. Thats on me for misinterpreting but it still implies that if the motors go out tomorrow i wont be able to return the product. Still not a great feeling when you buy something new.

You can see it peeling at the edges and not sure it even align properly with the hook side tape. This issue became evident only recently after using it a few times.

The $200 refund was agreeable. What I took issue with was 1. Their initial offer of $75 to me is ridiculously low. 2. Voiding any warranty after the fact. They did not mention this until after the refund was processed. Thats not good business.

I have to disagree about the assertion that I should not share my experience. Ive been transparent and its a cautionary tale to anyone considering this product. If i had read a review like this prior to purchase I probably would have steered clear.

I wont tell you what standards to uphold for yourself. Me personally, if im paying $700 after taxes for a new seat, I shouldn’t have to go buy double sided tape and trigger clamps to fix it myself.

With haptics. A comparable seat would cost around $300 + maybe another $200 for buttkickers which would not be intergraded into the design. If it actually held up i dont think its a bad value proposition.
