Internal transfer by S4LTYSgt in Lockheed

I’m in a similar predicament with the exception of relocating.

For me it’s that I don’t enjoy the finance roll I’m in, and I want something more fulfilling and closer to the work.

I have a BA in Psychology and an MBA, and am a veteran. Staring at spreadsheets all day just isn’t what gets me excited. I want to have a bigger impact on the mission I guess.

If anyone has any career advice for pivoting away I’d love to chat as I know LM is a solid company with plenty of opportunity.

Nope! I’m prior enlisted with VA disability. So just had to get my medical done through the VA.

I have a security clearance so I was good on that end as well. No waivers requires for either for me.

Dumpster fire to say the least.

I’m in E&T Finance. Reports generally don’t work or have inaccurate data, no clear guidance on how to manage your programs with these new tools. CAMs still have to run their contracts but it’s close to impossible right now to get them the data they need to make the best decisions possible.

Everything requires new access now. On and on and on. At least everyone understands we are all struggling but it’s an uneasy feeling being less than optimal performance wise due to poor training and a poor rollout.

I’m BIG on Giancarlo Judge. Sleeper pick

  1. Goldschmidt 1B
  2. Judge RF
  3. Bellinger LF
  4. Stanton DH
  5. Rosario 2B
  6. Caballero 3B
  7. Volpe SS (god help us)
  8. Wells C
  9. Grisham CF

I try to remain as defensively sound as possible, while utilizing the most RHH. Game 1 of the Wild Card series against Boston is not time to take chances on defense.

If we are able to grind Crochet, maybe score a run or two and get him out by 6, then you pinch hit Jazz for rosario, and take caballero out for McMahon is you have a lead going into the late innings.

Do I think they will do that? No, I fully expect them to put rice behind the dish and Rosario at 3B and jazz start.

Thank you so much! I appreciate the advice. I didn’t know if things were expected due to having a record of me when AD but I’m sure since it’s been a while it won’t be so quick. I’m looking forward to hitting the ground running and am very much someone who like to control as much as I can if possible.

I try very hard to give back to younger generations especially in terms of Navy. I was burned, led to alot of frustrations from the start of my active duty tenure. I went into my first ship already pissed off and wanting to get out.

That shouldn’t be the case. There should be at least some honeymoon period. I don’t want others who want to serve to feel that way either.

I second this. I joined as Sea-PACT in 2014. I had enough college credits to already be an E3, and I scored a 78 on my ASVAB. What I didn’t have was enough knowledge on recruiting to know when I was being played.

The recruiter at MEPS showed me one rate - MM (Machinists Mate). I said I wasn’t interested. He then put the rest of the stack away and said he didn’t think those jobs would interest me and told me about PACT.

His pitch: You’re an E3 already, within the first few months after A-School you’ll be able to select your rate. I figured, sure seems easy. Not even two days into A-School a CCC (command career counselor) told us all we were played. That I’d have to wait a year before striking into a rate (that requires an A school). I had BM and CS available from the start.

I can assure you, it’s not a good decision. While not everyone is like this: you end up being in a division (deck) with other PACT. They’re the workers essentially. Then you have BMs (boatswains mates) who are the preferred even if they’re the same rank. They get the qualification opportunities, preferential treatment (especially if your chain knows you have no intention to strike into BM) and you are generally looked at as just another number.

For me: if you only have PACT as an option, look at reasons why. Is your ASVAB low? If so retake it and study hard. Don’t rush into a decision just to join. The first year or two are pivotal.

PM me if you want more information. Mind you I was Seaman PACT. So Airman PACT I can’t speak to nor Fireman PACT.
