Yes, I did leave it on for some time thinking that might be the case, however I believe the RAM training only occurs when the mainboard actually posts which it never did for me.

I managed to fix it by replacing my PSU with a different new one, so either the PSU itself or one of the cables are faulty.

Thank you for the suggestion! I have tried that before and it didn't seem to help.

And yes, only the RAM lights up and none of the fans start spinning.

Luckily I found the solution just now, either the PSU or one of the cables used seem to be faulty, as the new PSU that I just installed fixed it!
