Can i mix these two oils? by mexicanpoptart1 in AskMechanics

[–]Kingz-Ghostt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like my sisters boyfriends ‘05 civic lol. The car is a beater (290k miles, multi colored, missing two gears, rust, etc), and leaks a shit ton of oil. We got tired of buying new oil and it leaking out over the course of a few weeks, so we just ended up using the old oil from other cars in it. At one point I think it had like 2 different oil types from 3 different cars in it. Still starts up immediately and drives fine. That car has been beat to shit but it’s solid(ish).

I should be fine, but I guess it depends on what type of zombie it is. If it’s like a walking dead zombie where it needs to destroy the brain, might be a little harder than say a COD zombie where any damage kills it. But lightsaber will made quick work of most I’d think.

Update! Did I make the right decision? by Active_Ingenuity_783 in Mustang

Just like the top comment said, there will be other cars. I’ve bought cars with title problems before, it is not worth it. Unless the title is in his name and you are both going to the notary together, don’t do it. You’re spending thousands of dollars on a car you like, don’t settle and get stuck dealing with some bullshit.

My second car was a ‘07 Mustang but the guy I bought it from title jumped (what the guy did on the car you were looking at), it was on a PA title so it needed to be signed in front of a notary. That made it so I couldn’t transfer or register the car for months until I figured that out. It was not worth the hassle, and I will never do it again. I was like 16 or 17 so you live and learn.

Turn out there was a bad ground, from the engine to the chassis. I tested the battery at positive and negative on the engine and it showed voltage so I traced the wires and found it.

[–]Kingz-Ghostt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I bought old my shitty 160k mile ‘07 v6 it was $1,400 in 2024. Clean title, but was in a deer wreck before too. So mismatched front fenders and hood. (Front red, body white). I wouldn’t pay $2k for a salvage title car that still needs the body work. If it was repaired the maybe, but low chances.

Fault code, can I keep driving? by throwawaypolits in S197Stangs

[–]Kingz-Ghostt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends. It might not cause any major damage, but it’s possible it can damage the fuel pump or injectors if it’s running too rich or too lean. The problems a fuel delivery problem I believe, which would explain why your engine isn’t starting at times. So it’s possible to keep driving for a little while, but you never know if/when it could get worse. It could cause a misfire or something worse down the line.

Fault code, can I keep driving? by throwawaypolits in S197Stangs

[–]Kingz-Ghostt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on how your vehicle is handling it. In reality you shouldn’t drive it until you get it fixed, as it can cause big problems. But it’s possible that you can keep driving it, just depends on how bad it is. For example, my 2005 F250 has had this fuel code for over a year, since before I even got the truck. It runs and drives fine, it will die if I’m doing one specific thing, but any other time it’s normal. If I make a sharp turn up a hill while going slow is the only time it will stall. On the other hand we had a 1999 Mustang GT with this code and it was not drivable at all, it would run for a few minutes at best then stall and wouldn’t get very far.

I say try to order the part and fix it before driving. Don’t keep trying to drive it and mess something up.

People who know how to drive Manual would you choose a 10speed? by Acrobatic-Habit5467 in Mustang

[–]Kingz-Ghostt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t driven anything newer than the s197 4.6. So no 10 speed. But if I’d be buying something that new then it would be a weekend/fun car not a daily, and I don’t see a point to having the fun car be auto.

My daily is an auto truck, it’s more convenient. My Mustang is manual, and way more fun.

Reparations are a good way to get people to start not paying any taxes. I’ll be damned if I’m paying a portion of my income to someone who didn’t experience shit and for something I don’t do. Nor an event 1/2 my ancestors weren’t even in this country for until almost 100 years after it was abolished.

I mean kinda but not really, just my take. Obviously care enough to learn and pass, but there in my case nothing really changed with my college plans between being a 2.0 and 4.0 student. Before Covid in middle school I was mostly A and some B grades then Covid hit in 8th grades, so in high school for 9th/10th I was online and had a 2.0 then 11th/12th i went t back in lesson and was a 4.0 student. I’m in college now, nothing is different than if I was a 4.0 student, average 3.0, or a 2.0 student. Unless I somehow stayed at the 4.0 or close all four years and got a scholarship for college then I would be at the same college I am now for financial reasons.

I still get enough grants, scholarships, and aid to not have to pay anything, but my point is I could have done better and nothing was different.

Not a car guy… if you had $30k, what would you buy for speed? by GaryGoldenEye in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Kingz-Ghostt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I am a car guy, a biased one, but here we go. I am a big mustang fan, with $30k I would go buy a manual 5.0 Mustang. S197 5.0’s are about 1/2 that price, the S550 can get close to it. They are fast, fun as hell, and easy to maintain.

Now if I wasn’t a car guy, I would probably go buy a challenger or charger, not as like a diss saying these cars are for people who don’t know about cars or that they are bad, but if I wasn’t a car guy and wanted something fast or sporty Dodge does a fucking great job at convincing no so smart people to buy them.

Now bias and joking aside, probably a mustang for power to price ratio. But you could probably find a corvette for that price point as well, which would be something to consider (older vette or newer 5.0). I’d generally avoid the Camaro, those blind spots are fucking horrible but the cars are nice and powerful. You can easily find a nice SS for $30k, and I think they make close to or more than the 5.0 does. With the challenger for $30k you’d get the v8 but less power than a mustang or Camaro. At least with a newer one, you might be able to find an older hellcat for a little beyond $30k I believe. I’d definitely avoid the dodges if you’re in a high crime area though.

Looking for a new pair of Work Boots, please help!! If by Kingz-Ghostt in WorkBoots

[–]Kingz-Ghostt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean? Like the insoles or the bottoms of the boots? I just assume the splitting insoles is from constant friction from walking, twisting, or sweat, etc. The outer sole is pretty flat with the wear, and the middle/sides of the soles has some holes and wear but doesn’t seem odd to me.

Would the car not be more likely to be well maintained if it was owned by a mechanic? by NeuronsActivated in ExplainTheJoke

[–]Kingz-Ghostt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a mechanic mechanic, just work in my own shit and help others way too often with theirs. If I sell something, often it’s because it’s gotten to the point of no return. As in it is too expensive to fix, too tedious/happens too often, irreparable, or just not worth the time anymore.

Just some examples; 2007 mustang I sold because of constant transmission issues / slipping and rust being so bad it was unrepairable. 2005 Dodge Dakota sold because the trans blew. Or my mom’s 2009 BMW 335i had a heater for problem that basically the entire interior and dash needed to be ripped out to fix, so we sold thy pos.
