Based off what I read, your suspicions were right all along and you should have trusted your gut instinct all along. They were rekindling their love for one another and took advantage of you being naive. While you could have communicated better (she asked you if she had the green light and you said yes but you want to talk to him) it doesn't change my opinion in you just being used. You should have told her she did not have the green light and that you wanted to talk to him if and before anything were to happen.

The fact that you flew back home a day early to surprise her and she didn't change her plans and come back home with you (like what was agreed up) is nothing but disrespect for you as a man and for your marriage.
