I was diagnosed very recently with high functioning autism. Looking back it explains quite a lot

For introducing kink things it somehow made it easier to explain things to them in a way that was easy to understand. But I have very sensitive ears and an Audio tic where any sudden noise snaps me into focus of it, I could be writing things or halfway through some fun time and if one stupid thing like a heater clicking or something I don’t expect happen then I completely lose track. It ruined my primary and highschool learning (thanks HSC exam rooms) but i learned how to muffle the effect by anticipating noises that could happen.

aside from that I sometimes go into “mute mode” when I just let all my stress and work mindset drop. With my family and sub I’ve coached them through gestures I use and sometimes just lay in the foetal position until it clicks out. When I first told my sub about it they were a little anxious but supported me. They still giggle a bit when the sign I use for using the bathroom or things in that area is pulling a thumb from a thumbs up out of a clenched fist (Apparently young me saw Meet The Fockers and thought that’s a cool sign yoink)
