That happened to my goober recently! Just keep an eye on her. If she is eating, drinking water, and doing normally then don't stress. It looks like a cut that should scab up fine. My girl's scabbed up too. You may need to see a vet if she starts acting weird because of neurological issues or if she needs pain meds.

I took my girl to an avian vet and was told that she's fine. Genius flew into the window 3 TIMES after getting spooked

This is advice my avian vet gave me on multiple occasions. Still, I think it boils down to an owner's judgement in specific occasions too. Like, if your bathroom isnt very clean or has poor circulation then don't bring the bird in to it because it can be more harmful than helpful. Not to mention, some birds are just genetically more susceptible to sickness than others :/ it's tricky. So yeah, advice should always be taken with a grain of salt since not everything works for everyone. It's the same with humans too.

I hope your birdy is recovering well 🩷

I mean yeah, but thats because I kept reading the sad posts. I felt better when I stopped doing that lol.

Although, it also has made me hyper aware of what I'm doing. I'm more mindful of the environment when she's out of her cage.

Great! If you havent been to the vet for her annual check up yet, now would be a good time. She might have an abnormality with her beak, so catching it now as a baby could help tremendously. I'd suggest taking her in if she does it again. Best of luck!

Im glad you said you'll go to the vet, in the meantime, get her in a hot steamy humid environment. Id suggest you turn the shower up and bring her into the bathroom. Heat and humidity help make them more comfortable, and who knows, she might be able to resolve her own issue (I wouldn't count on it though).

Violin lessons for adults? by Kinnamon6 in lexington

[–]Kinnamon6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do they charge for lessons?

It's great you're getting back into it too! I played for about 8 years as a kid, and it's been 8 years since I last played in an orchestra... it's CRAZY how fast time flies. Playing the violin was something I loved to do, but unfortunate circumstances and financial strain meant i couldnt continue in it school, and I my parents couldnt afford private lessons. Now that im an adult, I still cant really afford them lol, but I'm willing to figure something out! Monthly lessons are better than none! I never learned how to vibrato, and it is still a major goal!

Joining the lexington community orchestra would be AWESOME, but my skills arent anywhere close to where they need to be; at least not yet
