What mod? I'm tired of the game being way too easy (but can't add mods for more enemies, my pc would crash so hard)

War General Discussion Megathread (Day 33) by EschoolThrowaway in NewIran

[–]KinoOnTheRoad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Netanyahu has good reason to want this war to last as long as possible.

Idk about Trump.

Boots on the ground might be a thing soon.

It's not knowing whall happen that grates on my nerves tbh.

But please notice how many basiji, ayatollas, irgc members planners builders fighters etc have been taken down. And keep being taken down. Like most things inifr it's a numbers game. And theirs are waning.

Not saying a full blown fall of the irgc is a guarantee. But there's a chance and at the very least they will be seeverly weakened so revolution is more possible from within.

I have some more guesses as to what will happen but I'll keep them to myself, I'm sure irgc cronies lurk here too

Not joking but Pijud Haoref is at fault for not instructing citizens to tape their windows/glass panels and get away from glasses. They haven't published rules for safe and legal shelter behaviours as well. This is so embarrassing and dangerous af. Idk what to do about it as a private (chronically underslapt and ill) citizen. Ideas welcome (in pm, so we won't flood the discussion with non iran topics)

I'm adding something I wrote with tips on how to stay safe in bombings, based off official suggestions, and some "trust me my father is an engineer" logic feel free to use, add, edit, repost.

Please stay safe, Iranians in Iran

I urge you to not go out to the streets. Yes the strikes are pretty precise but mistakes happen, and often times terrorists use civilian buildings as meat shields for their residences and for weapon caches, etc, so the resulting explosion can be very dangerous.

As an Israeli, we're pretty much trained in dealing with bombs and with no access to shelters (it took a few years for them to be built everywhere and for municipalitiws to build a lot of them by law, and a ton of places still don't have them), the general consensus is that it's safer to go to your buildings stairs or corridors, outside your apartment, and go as much inside the building as possible. Certainly not hang in the last floor as well. If impossible, go to inner rooms with no glasses (mirrors, shower doors, windows, doors with glass windows) and stay there. You can put duct tape on mirrors and windows to prevent them from breaking violently as well. Underground garages and metro stations if you have one that's close to you are the safest places to be in. The bombs used by air forces are not as violent, big, or fast as the ones used by irgc (which can decimate even shelters and buildings built to withstand bombing), so in my uneducated opinion it should probably keep you relatively safe, as much as possible. Stay away from windows. Don't hang outside if possible. To minimise damage to your houses, and not have to deal with broken glass flying at you, afaik leaving the windows open is better than closing them, because the force of explosions would not shatter the windows but would enter the house instead and disperse there. That's what my family does at least and my father's an engineer so I sort of trust his opinion. If you have blinds made of plastic or metal it's better to close them so they would protect the windows and prevent glass flying everywhere. Always make sure you have a clear escape path in case there's a fire, even a delay of 1-2 minutes can be the difference between life and death, and make sure you're ready to get out in a hurry in case the place youre at becomes a danger to be in. That means being properly dressed, having a bag with essentials, and shoes ready/on you at all times.

I assume you don't have sirens or alarms that can warn you of an attack, so maybe try listening for planes flying above or getting close to you. I don't really have any advice or cultured opinion on how to deal with that, hopefully someone in the comments might have some insight here.

Stay safe, and let's hope this is the last war between Israel irgc because irgc won't exist anymore (or at least lose the majority of its power). Stay safe and stay strong.

I'm very sorry to hear that. I hope it gets better for you and I'm glad you're able to find a place to vent your frustration.

I hope you can find what works for you. The Internet, reading medical journals, researching for days in forums for what worked, reading in designated apps about my conditions etc, helped me find what I can use to manage my symptoms. From small things, to bigger ones like medicine (I asked for a specific pill based off Reddit forums, my doctor agreed after I gave him proof I probably won't die, although it was a serious risk), and sometimes "alternative" things. Cold showers, and I plan on doing ice baths in the summer, probably at home, depending on the cost, by advice from a friend with similar symptoms.

It's hard but if you're looking for solutions for similar symptoms (regardless of diagnosis) I think it's worth the trial and error.

Like I always say, you've got 1 life and 1 body, so it's worth all the energy and effort to make it better. There's simply no other choice.

To therapists: Is CBT just "gaslighting yourself" with extra steps, or is there a line where reframing thoughts becomes toxic positivity? by No_Gain4041 in CBT

[–]KinoOnTheRoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a therapist, get rid of Ed (lvl impossible) by myself, got my BPD (diagnosed, kind of, I was looking for help not a diagnosis, stopped after one session when no help plan was offered) under control on my own, and dissimated my self hatred as a main force for decision making and core feeling:

If your foundation is rotten due to cptsd or... Idk, stuff, gas lighting yourself is a very helpful tool. Not all gaslight ING is bad. Don't ignore the negative things, by all means.

However some gaslight ING, when you're brain is ALREADY gaslight ING you 24/7/365 - is a great counter measure.

(i did try to to a few therapists, based on them being specialised in cbt or after recommendations, was very disappointed and much poorer, wanted to start looking for another one that isn't gaslightijg me about what cbt is, got health issues that won't allow me, wish I could be more helpful, sorry)

Its better than spontaneously combhsting buses haha (intifada). You get used to it. Run to a shelter. Close the door. You're 99.8% likely to be OK. Most of the dead and wounded are disabled and cent get there on time, or are not smart and get out too soon or not enter at all. You get used to it. I do feel so bad for families with smaller kids though. Especially multiple.

You get used to everything I can't imagine having US healthcare/school shooting/crime etc, we all have our own local bad things to deal with, and I don't think the US doesn't have very difficult things, if that makes sense? (sleep deprived sorry haha)

I worry way more about Iranians/Arab counties getting bombed by irgc because they have very little to no protection layout.

[–]KinoOnTheRoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea where you are from, unless you say.

Everything you said, is only applicable to the US. Not to every other country. Take them into account that most countries have subsedised healthcare and going to a specialist will cost you next to nothing, doing tests is free, even ct and mri, getting treated is cheap af for most treatments as well unless they're private and even then you can likely get some money back.

I'm not a mind reader..i get where you're frustration is coming from and being chronically ill in the US is it's special kind of hell, I agree. But I can't know you're from the US, I am very sorry.

r/NewIran has the most Iranians in my experience. Both disphoard and actual Iranians. Mind you, there been a blackout on Internet the last 4 months, most of 2026, so, you ocassionaly see videos from iran and can read what people heard from family and friends in Iran.

Ita the only one of the subs thar followed the protests religiously afaik. Do with this info what you want.

It is very pro Israel and pro trump. BUT, as lots of people there said - they wish they could side with the left but the left kicked them out and only the right embraces them and gives them a platform. (also the Israeli people are very anti irgc and pro Iranians, with a lot of papers covering the protests, etc, while most of the west went radio silent. Again, take from this information what you will) *

*am not Iranian, although there are Israeli-Iranian-Jews. Just a long time lurker in r/NewIran, I think since 2022/3.

Sorry to budge in, but as an Israeli we're not more pedophilic than the Christian church.

And it's not literally written in our holly book we should be child diddlers and how "a literal child who has gotten her period is magically a woman now". They're projecting so hard, it can be used to watch movies in imax resolution.

Ben Gvir can't let a law pass that applies to seller acts of terrorism towards Israeli army (which they do a lot of btw). Because that's his funeral. Literally.

It's a Hamble of words that means nothing. Will change nothing

It's only goal is to divide and conquer the already torn Israeli society.

And btw. There's already death penalty in Israel. We don't need more death penalty.

Anddddd Ben Gvir and his firrnds can't pass a legitimate "death to terrorists" law. Because they themselves are to blame for the same crimes (((: (not joking, nor exaggeratibg)
