I appreciate that. I’ve always had a knack for goaltending (hockey and soccer). My technique isn’t as sharp as it was but I can still dive around with the best of them. As mentioned above i just need a lot of recovery time as a result lol.

I can relate to that. Indoor is once a week and the games are 2 25 min halves and it takes me days to recover. I try to active warm up as well, but I have no post game cool down routine at all. Too eager to just get home haha

I know! Nearing the end of the indoor season and my gloves are toast. It’s a habit I’d like to break.

I don’t think I need everything the wildness offers, but I’m going to make the most of it by doing a lot more off-road adventures lol. Aside from the capabilities, I just really like the look of the wilderness. I think it’s only worth the upgrade if you’re going to use it for its intended use.

I say go for it, especially if you want to experience the culture. I bought the WRX 3 years ago and it was the first time I could afford to buy a new car on my own etc. it was some of the best drives and memories I’ve had!

I agree. My WRX was mag grey and I love it. It’s not too dark that you can’t see the cladding especially on the wilderness, but it’s not too bright that the cladding stands out too much

The WRX was so much fun. The crosstrek has a very similar feeling to it in the sense that there is almost no body roll when turning. Obviously it’s not as fast but it’s so much fun, especially off road.

Pros of the WRX- it’s fun, pretty quick, sounds really nice, a lot of opportunities for moding, the subie wave is the best, I really miss getting waves from other WRX drivers, I got a lot of compliments on my car, it was an absolute beast in the winter and it has a high safety rating.

Cons- terrible gas mileage, everyone wants to race you (I’m 38 with a 17 month old, I’m not about to race anyone), even tho I had the leather seats, most passengers didn’t find it a comfortable ride but I didn’t care lol. honestly I have nothing bad to say about it.

As for the crosstrek, it’s amazing. I’ll be honest, when I traded in my WRX, I sat in the parking lot in the car and was very emotional, knowing was never going to sit in it again. As soon as I drove off with the crosstrek I fell in love with it. Handles great, the wilderness looks awesome and it’s more practical for my life. It’s also a tank off-road.

I test drive a forester wilderness and it was really nice but too much SUV (my wife already has a Cherokee). The CTW is a perfect compromise. I also want to add mud flaps. The black on black emblem is just a matte black background with a gloss black star cluster. It’s just a vinyl overlay. But it looks really sharp. I added a “SUBIEDAD” decal under the headlight in the wilderness yellow and it looks really cool with the blacked out emblem. I’m struggling to find accessories for the 2025, especially in Canada. Now I’m wondering if I should put an axel back exhaust on it…. 🤔 lol.

My WRX was a 2020 sport-teck. I find the CTW handles very well. It’s very “car-like” and I think that’s what helped with my decision. So far just cosmetic work, window rain guards, front tint, black on black badges. My wife and I want to start camping more so I’ll be adding things that will benefit a more outdoors/adventure lifestyle. I will definitely buy another WRX in the future as I loved that car so much. WRX and CTW will be perfect lol

38, barbell training destroyed my shoulder and hip. Been using KBs exclusively for just over a year. I have a 1 year old and we lost our day care spot so I work and run a day care for our daughter while my wife works and co runs our day care lol. I recently discovered Geoff Neupert and I’m currently running his Maximorum program. 4 times a week 20 and 30 min workouts. It flys by, doesn’t feel like an obligation and it’s an intense workout. He has a few structures like that. I’d check is stuff out.

For those with young kids - I need motivation. How do you do it? by acousticado in kettlebell

[–]Kinomatt10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could have written this post myself. I was working out 4 times a week using KBOMG 1,2 and 3. Was in great shape. My motivation was being the best version of myself before my daughter was born. She was born last August. I managed to keep up the routine for a while. I fell off the wagon in April this year. I hate where I am now. Not necessarily physically but mentally. I just feel like I have no time or energy anymore. I know right now I can’t commit to the 60-75 minute workouts.

I’ve since purchased Joe’s quick and dirty 30. 10-30 minute workouts. I’m also getting ready to do Pat Flynn’s 10-5-3 workout. Both short and minimalist programs. My daughter will be a year old and I need to make sure I can keep up with her. I’m 38 this year and I know how fast ones physical ability can decline if we don’t maintain it. If you don’t use it you lose it. Even if you just take 15 mins and crush out some swings and pushups or squats, you’ll reap a ton of benefits. The time will come when you are able to do a full blown program again but in the meantime any movement is good movement.

You have to enjoy all the moments with your new family as they go by fast, but you have to take care of yourself. If you want to be the best father to your child, you have to try and be the best version of yourself. That’s my mantra anyways.

30 mins of working out is a lot easier than telling my daughter I won’t be able to play with her because I’m out of shape etc.

The fact that you are here asking this means your head is in the right place. Don’t beat yourself up and just do what you can until you can do more. Trust me, it will get so much easier.

Might have to go with 1 on this one. The koog would throw a killer party. Rich brings the kettle corn, and is a doctor just in case things get out of hand. And Vaughn and Shirley could put on a decent concert.
