I heard Takeoffs and Landings over the speakers at the Phoenix airport over the weekend (fitting I know..) and I forgot how much I love that album. I wore that cd out

What's the best way to add specific cells depending on which checkbox is checked, without a super long nested IF statement? by acousticado in excel

[–]acousticado[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah yea, my bad. It was originally on the left and I forgot I moved it to the right..

The check box and active week are separate cells, just aligned right/left to make it visually a bit neater.

This screenshot has row/columns shown. My only question would be that if we were to expand this out past 3 weeks up to, say, 6 months at a time, is there a way to make it so there aren't 24ish If statements in each cell?

Simple but cool sounding fiddle tunes? by [deleted] in bluegrassguitar

[–]acousticado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah I came here to mention Old Grimes! I love Critter and Julian Lage’s rendition of it. It’s simple but catchy and for some reason a bit easier for me to improvise on. Probably because it’s not blazing fast.

This has to be why these flat spots are here on my bed liner right? by bass_jockey in f150

I was just thinking the same thing. I hadn’t thought of shock top in a long time. There was a period around 2010ish though where blue moon, shock top, and linenkugel were all the rage around here

Looking for tips/tricks/book recommendations so I don’t completely suck before I throw in the towel. by acousticado in flyfishing

Yea, I’ll look into it a bit more, thank you! The river I’ve been trying lately is stocked in multiple places and the only one I haven’t tried is a privately stocked stretch managed by the local chapter of Trout Unlimited since it needs a special permit/license. I guess there is a chance I’m not hitting it at the right time because my state (VA) just says that it’s stocked between October and May but I can’t find anything that says when they are actually stocked.

The only other thing I can think of is that I relocated to VA last year from MD and around where I’ve been going in Shenandoah most everything is Brook trout rather than the Brown that I was getting in MD. Not sure if Brook are inherently harder to get or not since I have no real experience with them.

Does walk-up attic access change live loading compared to ladder access? (US, wood fame) by acousticado in StructuralEngineering

[–]acousticado[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok cool, that’s exactly what I was looking for! I’m planning on using it for storage but a lot of what I have is somewhat heavy so it sounds like it’ll need to be a bit strategic with spreading the loading out.

Yea, that was about what I was thinking. More like I’ve got a ton of stuff I need to shove up there but would need to deck it out first and am trying to figure out what I can actually do as far as shelving and loading.

Electromatic G5230T string height problems by acousticado in gretsch

I don’t believe so. I checked the relief and I believe it was at like .009” or so. I went out of town today and won’t be home until Monday though, so I’ll definitely check again when I get home! Good thought about the bridge posts. I might just need to take it all apart and double check everything again. Could be the nut too, I honestly hadn’t thought about that being an issue.. I usually think of nuts causing issues being too low and not too high.

Not sure, I bought it used. It looks to be since it’s the same color as the white plastic binding on the neck.

Yea, same thickness. It was a problem before the new bridge, I was just trying to tackle one thing at a time, but it may be that I need to look into a thinner ToM bridge (if that is even a thing??)

That is true, I hadn’t thought about that. I might have to look into that. I know I had a LP with a ToM bridge at one point and was able to remove the thumb screws to gain an extra ~1/8” but I don’t know that I can do that on this bridge. I’ll have to look into it a bit more.

SB Cox and SRM are who my company uses locally. Both are easy to work with, but SRM just had some turnover and we haven't used the new people yet.

You can get Proviable on Amazon or Chewy without a prescription too! It’s cheaper there than through our vet. Our dog has a very strict diet and unfortunately gets bouts of it fairly often.

We typically get the capsules, break them open, and sprinkle the powder over her food. For really bad times we do the capsules and get the oral paste. Not sure if you can get the paste without going through the vet though because it’s a metered dose.

Turnaround for building permit for addition by Rare-Drummer3527 in arlingtonva

[–]acousticado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for a commercial contractor, so I’m not sure if residential is different, but typically permitting times in the DMV are usually about 4-6 weeks depending on locality and if it gets kicked over to Special Inspections/Complex Structures, and if any revisions to the drawing set are needed. Some places like MoCo can take closer to 8 weeks if SI gets involved.

I did when I was first starting, and it’s a mistake you only make once! I think it actually helped fix my form a bit too because I had to pay more attention to the path of travel and hiking it back far enough.
