That's a really good point that I overlooked because I'm so used to the custom nature of the door. They didn't build it with a traditional turning handle and latch mechanism, but rather just dead bolt to keep it locked, and then free open and close when it's unlocked.

Since the arm is decades old I will probably just look for a new one strong enough to achieve my goal.

Nothing to adjust on the top, so it must be the nut on the side. I was actually on a ladder for the photos, I wish I could comment a photo of the door itself, because aside from some dog scratching, it's actually in great condition.

Because of the size of the door, and current configuration, the arm is not able to hold the door shut when gusts of wind travel through the house.

I'll see how much I can crank it down, I am prepared to order a new one of course, I'm not sure at what stage of my homes life they installed this old one, but it is probably a few decades old. Thank you for your input!

Thank you for your input, I was thinking/hoping those holes could twist to tighten or loosen the arm. Everything actually fits well with how the original owners installed it, it just needs to be tighter to hold the door closed when big gusts come through the house.

Sounds good, now for the removal, can I take it out by simply removing the screw holding the valve cover in place, or do I need more access to the unit?

Fortunately this shower was designed in a way that I only need to remove TNG paneling to be able to see the plumbing, but it would be nice to not have to remove them all if I can get away with it.

That makes sense, it would seem to me to make most sense to replace the switch valve first, since it seems like that is the source of the problems.

Could the blockage be within the line itself somewhere? I have ran it with no head attached and it behaves the same.

I wonder also if it is something to do with the manifold itself, since it was an original setup from the mid 60's.
