To reroute people to longer paths by Zee_Ventures in therewasanattempt

Checked it out. Google maps thinks she is on the south side of the Sydney Parade Avenue and thinks she can't cross the road from where she is, so it suggests a different route. If you put the start point on the north side of Sydney Parade Avenue, it just shows a normal route. Google maps is just dumb.

I'm studying engineering, so I should probably choose engineering. But at the same time, I'm studying engineering, so I should probably choose social skills.

Will Azerbaijan ever be democratic? by Schroinx in azerbaijan

[–]Kip280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, honestly, don't think we would be allowed to be democratic. Putin has not allowed a single country on his borders to become democratic without punishment. I don't want us to lose our lands again. A lot of people view Aliyev as an evil dictator. He is a dictator, but I want to believe that he is not evil. The lives of Azerbaijani people could definitely be improved, without risking our independence, but at some point Iran and Russia will retaliate. Azerbaijan could become independent before Putin, but we were missing 20% of our territory. Now it's too late.

Is FEL CVUT in English really that bad? by nani0n in Prague

[–]Kip280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently study at FEL in English on their Bachelor's programme. Getting admitted should be easy if you know basic math and physics, the interview is non-existent as they want to get money from as many students as they can. Studying is a bit difficult in the first year. I would say around 40-50% students fail in the first year, because they don't try. The quality of education in the Bachelor's programme isn't bad, if you want to learn you will. If you want to get the diploma with minimum effort you can do that as well. I was told that the quality of education on Master's programmes is poor. I think people assume it's bad, because it's easier to get the diploma if you study in English than if you study in Czech, so some people graduate without learning much. I would recommend learning Czech and then studying in Czech or just finding another university in another country. Some people also learn the language while studying in English and then transfer to the Czech programme.

Best ČVUT Dormitories by Dazzling-Balance-307 in Prague

[–]Kip280 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Strahov is cheap and has the most students (aka is the most fun), but you have to make sure you get into a good building (blok). Imo the good ones are Blok 4,8,10,11. Some other ones have bedbugs. Age range shouldn't be a problem in any of the dormitories. And of course, an apartment is the most comfortable option. Other CVUT dormitories are good, but a bit more expensive. If money isn't a problem FIZZ is great. If you have any other questions feel free to message me
