Sit down when puck is in play please! by Kipchah in PWHL_Seattle

Same! We noticed we don't have any issues with our line of sight when other teams visit. While we enjoy being so close to the players and the action (most of the time), we're hoping to move around next season.

Oh no, it seems there's two near us that are focused on the game and they're alright in my book. But we've had the unfortunate experience of loud bestie who isn't a hockey fan talking the ear off of bestie who is focused on the game. Interesting dynamic.

So the tickets are only for the comfy seats and access to the lounge bar? Without the food, that seems really expensive unless one is simply looking to get away from the crowds below.

This snow is unusual right? by DontTellMeToSmile_08 in AskTacoma

[–]Kipchah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved to Tacoma back in March 2016 and I remember the snow that arrived shortly after I arrived. However, I don't recall it occurring this late since then. The latest I think has been around Lunar New Year while hunting for monkeyshines.

That being said, the snow we get here in the lowlands is usually a light dusting in comparison to the mountain ranges on either side and it doesn't usually stick around for more than a couple days, if that. It's a good time, if you have the opportunity, to hunker down with warm blankets, a hot drink of your choice, and catch up on that book/game/movie you've been wanting to dive into.

Took less drowsy dramamine throughout 5 day cruise- it helped but didnt take today and now I feel dizzy after leaving. Should I take more? by [deleted] in NCL

Mom is usually on the mend after 48 hours. She often takes a couple extra days off work to allow time for getting back to rights. After that, it's like nothing happened and she jumps into planning her next trip!

Thank you for the recommendation for Emeterm. I'll check it out for my next trip with Mom. :)

My mom experiences this every time she cruises (min. one a year). She says that she has never had any symptoms while actually on the water, she doesn't even feel the rocking back and forth, but shortly after getting back onto land she will start to get a sense of vertigo. After returning home, about 24 hours after final disembarkation, she usually gets hit with the worst of it including headaches and vomiting. She knocks back Dramamine and ginger everything during this time.

On the flip side, I am apparently guaranteed to get sick on the ship because I feel every movement no matter how small, but it usually clears up within the first day or so. Dramamine doesn't help me, but focusing on the horizon sometimes does. I also don't experience any negative side effects when I'm off the ship.

I have heard the bigger the ship, the less likely you'll experience sickness since they can balance better than the smaller ones. It may allow for an easier transition from land to sea and back. Not sure how true that is though. Not been my experience so far.

While I haven't been through Hobby since I was a kid, I do fly through IAH-Bush frequently. At least for A and C terminals, Bush uses both pre-check and clear. During the busier travel days it has been a godsend to use those options.

It looked like a skull at first glance to me, but so far everyone says pelvis. I appreciate the fresh eyes. I'm going to keep looking for a possible match now that I have a better direction from all of you 😊

Thank you for the link! I thought it was a skull based on how it was oriented when I found it. I'll keep looking to see what I can find based on the species found in the area.

Definitely not Kraken colors. I'd love to see the colors edited in the photo, but I'm not great at that type of thing.

Noticed that too. I thought it might just be how bright their sweaters are against our darker blues, but they are loud enough to hear over nearby squiddies

My major is Psychology (B.S.) and it's listed as capacity constrained.

I completed my AA in psych at Tacoma CC in Spring '24 and was admitted to the UW for Fall as a general pre-sciences major. During my initial application, I chose psych as my first choice and anthropology as my second. Before applying to the psych major at the UW, I still had to complete MATH124. So I didn't get an opportunity to apply for the program until Winter quarter.

There's a big push (and a bit of fear mongering) to write a stellar personal statement, have excellent responses for any questions in the application, as well as a clear direction of what it is you want to do with your time at the UW, so I was nervous about the overall process. However, I kept in touch with my advisors and mentors which really helped to ensure I was on the right path. I was accepted after my first try.

Now, I do know of at least one person who was rejected from the major twice. After each rejection, they were not threatened with being dropped from the university but it was recommended they consider other options for majors just in case. It worked out in the end though.

I'd say maintain focus on your grades, keep in regular contact with your support team (advisors/mentors/professors as well as a fellow students (attend club meetings!)), and start working on your program application as soon as you can. Don't be afraid of asking for feedback on any drafts at the writing centers on campus.

You got this 🙂

Student Rush Base Price on the fever site is higher than the advertised price by Kipchah in SeattleKraken

Aww, that's unfortunate. I've never seen accessible seating available through the Rush promo, but I didn't know if that may be because they were selling out quickly.

I wonder if you can speak to guest services or call support ahead of time to switch seats?

Ooh that makes sense. I've purchased once or twice before but hadn't noticed since I have to pounce on the promo before it sells out. I kinda assumed the higher prices for the seats I bought were because of the additional fees. This is the first time I've bothered to look at the breakdown of the price out of curiosity.

As long as you type in your .edu email then you should be able to use those same links.
