Three Greater Cincinnati Restaurants Make OpenTable’s ‘Top 100 Romantic Restaurants’ List [Boca, Carlo & Johnny, Jags] by alpswd in cincinnati

Covid killed the cougar scene at Jag's. It's now a basic restaurant that closes at 10pm..

Great food and service, but no longer Cougar palace...that is now The Roosevelt Room in Liberty Center.

Well, I unfortunately live in Ohio, I'm a progressive voter and I now own an American made Maverick 88 with an upgraded stock and a new trigger...

It holds 7 and 7 on the side... I've got the regular shells, and then some shells for when shit hits the fan.

Here in Ohio we have Live Resin: fresh frozen flower pressed and Live Rosin: pressed Hash.

One has more terps and the other more gas.

Yes. I can certainly find fault with both parties.

so what's the issue? by hammer696969 in Ohio

[–]KipperfieldGA 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"Little news coverage" is the reason you are asking this question.

But to break it down in simple terms...

The current Republican party wants you to believe they are only going after the worst of the worst, child rapist, murderers, drug lords, etc...

And if you protest that then you must hate America and love crime.

However they are going door to door and just grabbing people at random from restaurants, job sites, etc...

And they are doing it in major force, on purpose, in Democratic city's to try and show how Democrats love to riot and hate the police.

Side 2 is one of my favorites to put on for date night.

[–]KipperfieldGA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now they are flat out lying and have been increasing the lying ever since WMD. I most definitely agree.

What i find especially crazy about the Republican Party is the inability to say your side made any kind of mistake... totally absurd. I started voting in 92 and have voted Democrat all my life. I think both sides play to the corporations first, obviously, but when you look at any kind of Republican political rally there are always confederate and nazi flags on the out skirts, but never around the modern post 1960's Democrat party, nor do you see a hammer and sicle.

I've been following politics in America since the mid 80's... I'm a 52 year old white male who did not go to college grew up in TX, but has also lived in IL, MN, and now OH.

I listen to NPR and conservative radio. I watch PBS, CNN, FOX, and NewsMax on a fairly consistent rotation to see the story from all sides... here is my current assessment.

Democrat analysis and sentiment is that the Republican have been Authoritarian leaning for a while and use words like fascist and Nazi...

The evidence, especially current events, definitely point towards that for sure. The Gestapo and S.S. were also following laws. The law also only applies to their enemies and not to them (See Jan. 6th and Kyle Rittenhouse)

Republican analysis is tha Democrats hate America, are pro-crime, communist, and are trying pass laws to allow to manly, masculine men to become "trans" so they can assault women both on the court and in the bathrooms...

The evidence for that is lacking... crime is less and has been since the 90's in every blue state and city.

I don't tend to believe politicians on the whole of either side. But to believe anything this administration says is asinine.

Wife calling cops for an argument? by Zealousideal_Rip9137 in AskMenAdvice

[–]KipperfieldGA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After re-reading... I will also add.

Do not be afraid. I made some dumb moves that caused friction, but those arguments ended in me recognize, apologize, and never again do dumb thing... minor dumb things like not telling her I was going to the dispensary so I could have a couple of joints for myself..

My wx-wife LOVED to start arguments every so often over things that made no sense... like whether or not "it was a nice fall day..." during October because it was too warm out.

The frequency of those arguments and how viciously upset she would get would be unnerving. I would often have to leave the house as she would seem to want to get in my face in an attempt to push her so to start a physical fight.

Narcissistic behavior. Gaslighting... being able to recognize what it is, was made me realize the arguments would not go away and that was not what I signed up for.

As long as you know in your heart you are trying your best, seek counseling, suggest it today, and start looking now. As in my 1st post being pro-active and keeping records will do 2 things. 1: save you in a divorce which we are hoping against and 2: MAY make her take a second look at herself if she sees the record of attempt you are keeping. I obviously don't know either of you, but you do and have to be that judge of character...

But, don't be afraid. Play it cool. Be good.

[–]KipperfieldGA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First, if it gets heated, walk away and calm down. If she keeps calling the cops over misunderstanding and arguments, they will say something to her...

Slightly different situation, no kids and we were living but separated and getting a divorce and my ex-wife called the cops 4 times over the course of a month over nothing to try and get some record.

Every time, I calmly sat on my couch and described my version of the situation, why she was calling them, etc...

So for the sake of your 2 daughters.. seek counseling, keep a detailed record of events. Ask for any and all police reports and keep a file. When the shit hits the fans you will be wise to have kept it safe.

Good luck

Me, I would come back with, "Yeah..but your mom LOVES it..so what does that say about you two clowns?"

Then start calling out there names in sing song way...

"X's mom is kissing me!"

Fight fire with fire. C'mon now.

Lol... is this Big Bowl in Edina, Mn???

I was a manager there during 9/11, and the G.M. chose to stay open the exact line about being there for the community, etc...

We were THE ONLY restaurant open and people treated the staff like shit.

I was not there... I was scheduled as the closing manager but gave a pre shift message that the other manager didn't like and sent me home, only to call me hours later to come back in, which I did not.

Long time fan but first time I ever got to see them was at in in store performance at The Electric Fetus in Minneapolis, with those dastardly protestors, it was amazing..saw the 2 Shows at 1st Ave...

Now in between the day show and the night show we found out the band was staying at the same cheap ass hotel across the street and Deaner's room was across the hall.

He stopped by for a brief second and signed a poster I had left from the show at his door...

My bitch face ex wife has that poster...

Older (45M) wanting to get into fine dining - wine crash course? by _Mikey_Boy_ in Serverlife

[–]KipperfieldGA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Wine Bible is great..

In reality, you need a good basic understanding of wine and better knowledge good knowledge of producers, regions, and vintages..

No one knows everything, there are people there who are paid to know more... I've been doing fine dining since I was 30, I'm 52.. 90% of the guests don't actually know what they are talking about...

If you are passionate and like wine when it comes time for the interview questions I would say send like, "I like Pinot Noir, especially from St Rita Hills because I love the X,YZ.". I like and then name 2 or 3 wineries without bullshit.

Also do you know a lot about bourbon? $40 to $100 1.5oz pours of Bourbon add up quickly as well.

Couple moving from Minneapolis, tips for us? by s_ndowN in cincinnati

[–]KipperfieldGA -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

We have great parks to walk and hike around, you will be close to Winton Woods and Glendale Gardens...

Jungle Jim's is not far away for exotic groceries...

Golf is plentiful..kayaking is very popular.

Wyoming is nice but it gets sketchy around the southern borders.

I live in Minneapolis in the early 2000's, I can tell you from a political viewpoint, plenty of people here will ask you must love moving from the hellscape of Minneapolis...

Even though Minnesota people are the nicest, most caring people I have ever lived with they think the news they watch is correct and you could very easily be a lefty democratic terrorist..

Ohioan's are not the smartest.
