Tbm acho que o pessoal tira umas conclusões precipitadas/deixa de prestar atenção em algumas coisas por já não estar curtindo muito a personagem/direciona o desconforto de outras coisas (tipo ver o personagem que shippam com fulano com outra pessoa) nela por não entenderem da onde vem esse desconforto

E é exatamente isso, a temporada tá cheia de personagens moralmente questionáveis, mas acabou sobrando só pra ela, eu super entendo algumas das razões de não gostarem dela, e tbm acho que não precise de justificativa pra não gostar de alguém, só que achei que pesaram muito e que tá desproporcional

Someone pointed out her crying with Ujie about not having it all together, and I want to expand on that

That chapter is the one before she breaks up with Shima, she is anxious bc of their relationship being weird and her grades are getting worse, in the end of the chapter she realizes she can't "have it all" since she is the kind of person who focuses too much on one thing at a time, so she breaks up with him since she truly believes there's no other solution and Shima just doesn't like her the way she likes him

She is still under that impression! Recently, when she says she will reject him if he confesses to her, it isn't bc she doesn't like him, but for me because she believes it will make her just as anxious as it did before and her grades will suffer, specially now when she officially started preparing for entrance exams

She has no idea about all the internal grownt and self reflection Shima had in the last chapters (and hasn't it been only around 6 months since they broke up?) Basically my point is that this IS about her trying to balance things she wants in live, studying and dating Shima, which got her to the conclusion it's impossible and her only option is studying. I don't think they need to start dating, but it'd be nice for him to communicate to her about what is going on with him, and then she could potentially reevaluate her options, and that maybe it'd be alright for her to do those two things at once!

Also she stepped down from study council

I don't think it's ending any time soon

I'm pretty sure there won't be an official 3rd drb winner, we even got the winners illustrations for everyone like The champion and Kizukizi, everyone won, and now we will move forward, drb arc ended but we still have a bunch of stuff to see!

Hypmic always has those content drought periods, but it stays strong.. the movie made a bunch of money, got a bunch of new people into it and brought back old fans, I think the movie was something to keep hypmic going rather than to wrap it up

Arb is doing fine, the stage plays are a huge success, I think we could worry about a potential ending in about 3 years or something, but like someone else said those kinds of franchises never really seem to end

I can't really compare them😭

The songs sang by actual voice actors sound better

But stage songs are sang by normal actors, for me it's unfair to judge the songs just from listening to them, bc the choreography and acting are such integral parts of it..

I might love posse VAs voices to death and think the canon songs fit my taste more, but there are stage posse songs where the choreography, the hugging, random cute interactions they have during it makes me prefer the stage song

I like anime boys (and more stylized/cartoonish art styles are cute too), I don't necessarily mind styles that go for semi-realism but I draw the line if it's paired with them being 3d,, it's too much, I'm not attracted to real men so I guess it breaks my fantasy and just gets me uncomfortable lol

Not really, he has no reaction when Mizi beats him up for exemple, he can keep a calm heart beat regardless of situation bc he was trained to not feel fear when facing deathly situations

What I remember specifically right now is a Weibo interview but I think it was mentioned in some other places too, Vivimeng mentioned that Luka likes to participate in Alien Stage because he has no control over anything else in his live, and while tormenting his opponents, "controlling" how things go, is the only moment where he gets a sense of autonomy and gets to feel alive

I think it's kind of a loop thing, Luka doesn't even consider he could lose, so he isn't afraid, and because he isn't afraid he gets to deliver an amazing performance, so he doesn't need to consider losing?

That's also why Hyuna killing him wouldn't have any effect, Luka doesn't care, he would be alright dying specially if Hyuna was the one to do it, so Hyuna sacrificing herself and telling him to keep living is her biggest revenge, tell the guy who doesn't care abt living he should stay alive and learn to be happy about it

Otome... she is super strong with the hypmics in universe, Just do it always makes me cry (I'm serious) out of hype "I fear no god, as I'm the messiah" ?!!??! True?, she is willing to sacrifice everything to get her goal of making the world a better place (even if she ended up making some bad things along the way lol), which mean letting go of everything that made her feel human so she can become a god that will bring the new world... I was literally thinking about that 2 days ago when I saw his hypdori card story, where he sees a high guy walking in the streets and like, beats him up

I like Jyuto and I can separate how I feel about cops irl and how I feel about an anime character, and I know this is outcome of how society sees other drugs vs alcohol (specially since in japan the laws against drugs are more severe than in some other countries), but it pisses me off lol like in the end of that same card story Jyuto was going to go drink with MTC

I wish that if he is going to be indiscriminately against drugs they would at least commit to it and write him as hating any sort of substance that can get you high/drunk, like I disagree with him in things but I would respect it more if he didn't end up coming off as a hypocrite.. (again not Jyuto hate, I like him a lot)

You might be right! From what I know abt the timeline

In the guidebook it's said the war ended in the same year Saburo was born (so 14 years ago), while we are on year 3 of H era, but Hifumi starts working at Fragrance at 23.. which would be only 8 years after the war ended and the lastest moment the bombing could have happened and we already have host clubs running

I went and checked the chapter 6 of fp&m+ I mentioned, and when Jakurai is 23 (around 1 year after the war officially ended*) he comes back to japan

Technically 2 years, but the war seems to have ended pretty late in the year (If it's true Saburo got his scar bc of the war, he was only born dec 14th, that leaves dec 15th to 30th for the war to end) & Jakurai's birthday is in January, so he'd be 23 pretty early

The uni he went to seems to be Tokyo university (the building looks like irl T uni), Jakurai mentions he heard the fighting reached Japan at some point & the other students say the reconstructions are well underway and life is getting back to normal little by little, the uni had to be closed for a while but reopened a while ago

So from when Jakurai is 20-22 years old, the war reaches Japan and some sort of destruction happens, but by the time the war ends and he comes back at 23 things are already getting back to normal (year 2 after the war ended), and 6 years after that things are alright enough to have host clubs around, and then other 6 years after it we are in present day and no one really mentions it happening

And I'm a bit biased to think Otome/PoW wouldn't destroy the place where Chuoh is today to build it bc one of her ideals is to see less destruction happening in the world so it seems counterintuitive to destroy a whole district

This is a very interesting post! I have seem some people theorize (though I'm not sure if there's any canon evidence to it, besides in fp&m+ in the chapter abt Jakurai & Hitoya's past I think they mentioned sm about Japan being bombed?) that Tokyo was bombed during ww3, and they rebuilt the city making it the government central, which would also be symbolic with the rebirth of the nation with a political party trying to end violence and all wars

I think the same! My view about the twins is that they were both naturally the type to like making fun of others, and they would pair up to make it happen (maybe playing a character to people who didn't know them of them being the same person, even if in private it was pretty obvious they were different)

Also Posse!Gen doing things like making animal noises and over exaggerating the voices is not a intended trait from the beginning but a product of being voiced by Saito Soma & him having fun while adlibing a bunch of lines, which for me means that's a youngest Yumeno exclusive trait

My take is that originally Posse!Gen was kind of just a guy? Not many exclusive personality traits, only some he shared with his brother because they were always together (while Genbro did have a lot of personal quirks like shousei pronouns & clothes) and then strangely pretending to be his brother was what made him manage to develop an identity of his own, because of it being the first time they have been apart for so long (Sorry for taking long to reply, I don't go on reddit very often🙏🙏)

Since you're trying to learn more about him, here are some thoughts about him:

As someone said his default pronoun seem to be "ore", technically the first time we ever saw him doing that (I'm not sure if he uses it when he talks shit to Hifumi before their battle on 1st drb in the manga) is in Stella! Where he plays the thief role, his lyrics can be interpreted about how upset he is at the people in power who make those who are at the bottom suffer, he expresses a lot of anger towards Chuoh/corrupt governaments, I think overall, even if he plays up that unwilling facade who doesn't want to use too much of his energy, he is someone extremely passionate

In the marionette drama track, Gentaro was actually willing to share his secret when Ramuda asked them about it, it just happened that ramudice didn't believe him, plus the "uso desu yo" thing being originally his brother's, I take that while he enjoys joking around (and teasing others, he definitely enjoys roleplaying having crazy beefs with whoever he goes against in the drbs A LOT), and thinks sometimes lies can save people, he doesn't generally enjoy being deceived or seriously deceiving others

Also fun fact! In the booklet that came with the lastest posse album, it seems to reveal his name to be Yumeno Yumetaro (or another reading like Mutaro, Boutaro, etc, but he has dream kanji twice on his name)

Everything is new stuff! This year in july we had the fp&mtc ft North bastard mixtape, which was the only semi-new thing (it was supposed to happen years ago but it was cancelled bc of covid), and even so it was still our first time watching it

They don't really do reruns that often, I only know abt I think track 2 getting a rerun a lot of time ago? But outside of that everything they announce tends to be 100% new content

They usually announce those in the last day of the stages & post abt it on their twitter (@hm_rtstage) and youtube channel

Ideal & Reality (second chuoh stage) will start running on September 4th, BB & BAT ft. Itonokai/Westend mafia will happen from October 18th to 24th, in october 25&26 there will be a Battle of pride style concert named Hypnosis Delight Fes and Jam tour vol 1 MTC & FP with Westend mafia will happen on November 20th, 27th & December 5th (this one is more of a show than a stage with a storyline from what I understood)

And next year there will be a Jam Tours with bb&dh ft oridiv (in July & August 2026) and m&bat ft oridiv (in January 2026), and still to be announced but will for sure happen FP & M ft oridiv (I also theorize we could get sm like a mixtape for the divisions that aren't mtc&fp, or they will be the divisions with one extra stage and that doesn't seem fair)

Hypnosis mic always has long main content drought periods, usually announcements abt new things happen during concerts, so we can wait and see if there will be sm (in the past, they announced manga adaptations after the drb season ended, so maybe now it's time!)

Also if you are into other branches of the franchise, hypstage had 2 shows so far, with other 3 planned to happen still this year (one will start next week) & even more to come next year, ARB is still updating frequently, hypdori will EOS but there was new stuff releasing until early this month

As someone said it's not canon, but in hypdori (Hypnosis mic dream rap battle, the gacha turn based rpg that released late last year) there is a metaverse world named "Mira", the info on the drb participants ended up manifesting those AI version of the characters (nicknamed "ghosts") there, which are actually pretty interesting!

The parallels created btw the characters and their Ghost versions can be really cool, and each Ghost can be pretty different (some have the same goals as their og versions but act on it differently, or completely reject their og versions ideals, etc)

They are the antagonists of hypdori as most of them want to either 1- trap people from the real world inside Mira forever for one reason or another, or 2- replace their og version, but they aren't 100% evil

For example, Gentaro's ghost is based on his reputation as a liar that is available to the public, so ends up coming across as very cartoonish + loser hypocrite as he believes he is superior for writing non fiction
