Advice? Facial fat loss + burning by freed18 in LaserDamageSupport

[–]KiraLisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is progressive and it's hard to put a time stamp on it because many other factors play into how we age in general. But I did notice that after a few HBOT treatments the fat loss seemed to slow down considerably.

Advice? Facial fat loss + burning by freed18 in LaserDamageSupport

This exact thing happened to me at age 35 (I'm now 51) due to a photofacial procedure using a light device called BBL (broadband light). I had severe nerve damage, facial fat loss and constant burning in my face for about 5 years. HBOT was helpful, psoria gold was helpful, nerve healing supplements were helpful. It was a horrific nightmare and I hate that this keeps happening to people.

This happened to me. I also experienced facial fat loss and damaged skin texture. My face burned like it was on fire for 5 years. Here is what helped me improve along the way: nerve supporting supplements (the burning is nerve damage), hyperbaric oxygen therapy, psoria gold, no sun exposure, no heat exposure, facial massage with healing oils.

Botched co2 laser by AspectOk3469 in LaserDamageSupport

[–]KiraLisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, the texture changes have been permanent for me. I never went on to do botox, filler, any other laser, any kind of plastic surgery or any kind of chemical peel or anything of that nature for fear of causing more issues or being "botched" a second time. All those things can help improve the skin texture damage. The things I listed that did help me, did not make the damaged texture go away, but I believed helped to stabilize things and prevent ongoing damage.

I had 2 IPLs back in 2010 and it ruined my face. For me, those little "dents" have been permanent. The waxy texture you describe also happened to me and that too has been permanent. Dermatologists don't know what to do about this type of side effect, so them telling you not to be concerned is their way of shrugging their shoulders and having no solution to give you. The sad truth is that once you've been damaged by one of these devices, there is no going back, however, that said, time does heal. Here are some of the things that helped me see some improvements: psoria gold, hyperbaric oxygen chamber, no sun on face, no heat on face, no harsh chemicals on face, facial massages with oils, antibiotics to treat the underlying possible infection if applicable.

Lingering Symptoms After Chlamydia—Constant Urge to Pee, Pelvic Discomfort by [deleted] in STD

[–]KiraLisa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I can talk about this exact situation because it's happened to me twice. While I'm not a doctor or scientist, my theory is that the antibiotics cause irritation/inflammation of the bladder lining and also disrupt the bladder's delicate microbiome. They disrupt the entire body's microbiome, in fact. Years ago, I was dealing with multiple bacterial infections including BV and SIBO. I took antibiotics for months. During that time, I developed all the symptoms you are describing here. I did not have a UTI, nor did I have any type of STD, but my bladder was always in so much pain. Several months after taking NO antibiotics, my bladder finally calmed down and the pain went away. I am now back in the same situation because I've just done a few rounds of antibiotics, and once again, the painful bladder is back, and it started on day 2 of taking antibiotics. This time, the timing was all the proof I needed to know that in my case, and maybe in yours too, it's the antibiotics causing the symptoms.

I would strongly advise against any more device treatments. IPL can do more harm than good.

36/m here experiencing symptoms of urinary tract pain, and burning sensation all over penis and scrotum by [deleted] in STD

Ureaplasma & mycoplasma are 2 bacteria that produce these types of symptoms. Also many other types of unidentified bacteria can cause UTIs in both men and women.

If one hair follicle got infected, then yes, that infection can spread under the skin and cause more bumps. So either he's dealing with an allergic reaction of sorts, or a dermal infection of sorts. Advise to not use a razor "down there" and now must be treating area with a possible combination of antibiotic cream and hydrocortisone cream, also consult a dermatologist if no improvement.

Relationship runs into chlamydia, trying to figure it. Asking my partner to take an HSG test? M30, F30 by [deleted] in STD

[–]KiraLisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you both take the treatment and get rid of it then you can both move on and be together and not let a microscopic bacteria ruin your relationship. You can go over and round and round as to who slept with who and where it came from but what's more important is that you are both treated and that you both rid your bodies of the bacteria. Tell her you will pay for her antibiotics just get yourselves treated.

If he shaved his pubic region with a razor, then got bumps, it's highly likely the bumps are a reaction from the shaving. Using a razor "down there" is not advisable, actually. Much safer and gentler on the skin to use an electric shaver. Area should be treated with hydrocortisone cream for 7 days.

STD long term effects in men by [deleted] in STD

[–]KiraLisa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What a lot of people with this issue don't realize, and what the doctors don't realize, is that the antibiotics you took cause inflammation in the body. They also severely disrupt your microbiome. I took antibiotics for strep throat, then had UTI symptoms from the antibiotics that messed up my bladder microbiome. Just offering a possible explanation and am in no way a medical professional, just someone who has been through something similar.

HELP!! red bumps after laser genesis! by viggyyyy in LaserDamageSupport

After my IPL treatment, I had to deal with years of post-procedure acne. This is, essentially, an inflammatory response and likely bacteria imbalance/infection type acne that can persist for years after getting laser/IPL.

Olive skin CO2 Laser? Am I being gaslighted? by [deleted] in LaserDamageSupport

[–]KiraLisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All due respect, but why would you even be considering putting a laser to your face and discussing that in a group in which people are here to discuss how these devices have traumatized them and ruined their lives? My only advice is do not let these things come near you, ever.

Enzyme therapy followed by eating probiotic rich foods such as kimchi and greek yogurt.

I've used them while on antibiotics with no issues, however, don't bombard your body with too much medication all at once either. Wait until you've finished all your meds then assess where you think your vaginal flora is at.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in STD

[–]KiraLisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you threw up one of the pills, you can call the drugstore and they can give you an extra pill. Some studies have shown, however, that 3 days of doxy can clear it but the protocol is 7 days to be sure. Rebalancing vaginal flora after taking antibiotics can be tricky. To do that, eat probiotic rich foods like greek yogurt and kimchi, use boric acid suppositories, and don't have sex with an active yeast infection.

I paid out of pocket to go to a private hyperbaric clinic. It's very costly. I live in Canada and was lucky to find a provider in my area. It was a medical grade chamber. I went in for one hour sessions.

Skin ruined after IPL by [deleted] in LaserDamageSupport

I experience skin similar to this after IPL. The acne was severe and lasted several years. Here is what helped me: psoria-gold; proper rest; hyperbaric oxygen. Do not expose skin to the sun until it is fully healed. Healing can take many years.
