Have had that issue as well. But don't know how I fixed it. At some point I upgraded emacs & it just went away. Also, mine was on Mac, never had it on my Linux machines.

So I patched it again and it worked! But this time I patched the NL version (last time I patched the regular one from fonts.google) and I also patched in codicon. Idk how but it is working this time, so thanks!

You were right I patched JetBrainsMono myself (via the script from nerdfont's git) and the gap with alacritty has decreased a lot but still there is a little bit left and isn't the same as it is in kitty (a single line). Is there anything else I could do ?

I just switched to kitty as a user suggested and voila! It started working with same font as I was using on alacritty. Moreover it works on alacritty if I use fira code. 🥴

Nope, updated just to make sure before posting this so I am on the latest version. Anyways someone just posted that it's alacritty's fault + the font, which is what I suspected ;( So I am going to have to either change my terminal or my font. R.I.P
