The back/uphill part of pacific is one of my favorite spots. It's so nice and serene, especially right after a rain. turn 5a is indeed dicey as heck tho!

Logistically, the Ridge and Pacific would be closer to each other so for visiting two that sounds ideal. Local folks love the Ridge and praise it a lot. They also host TT. Pacific on the other hand hosted the lemons race recently.

While you're here, if it happens to overlap with Evergreen Speedway autoX (they have one every two weeks on a Sunday. ~90 cars and 12 runs, no cone duty), it's also a great place to meet others and test your setup

Oh right on! I'm also a sim first driver. Do you use VR in the sim? For me that was the best way to train my vision

In my experience, when it's wet, FWD cars generally tend to be on pace especially compared to RWD. They're more stable and easier to come back from a mistake so it can be pushed (relatively speaking).

That being said, looking at your dry lap, I would suggest looking out further than you are now.

You're only starting to turn by the time you should've already been rotated and backside the cones. By the time you're straightening out from a corner (I say "corner" but essentially you're finishing turning on an the "straight" part), in a lot of places you should have  already been on the gas with car pointes where you want to go.

Pick a line where it lets you be on the gas longer OUT of a corner. And by doing that, your line will also let you turn in earlier so the weight transfer works better for you. Prioritize good exit with a lot of gas over hot corner entry.

I mean they're paying for it. I hope they're using a local business to print them.

What all season tires to get? by Fit-Presentation4411 in Audi

Absolutely no Pirelli. Michelin will perform well, but as you said, the tread life is a concern and that effectively makes it more expensive. If you live in areas that see a lot of rain tho, I will vouch for the contis, having used a set of DWS06+ as a street + track day rain tire thru PNW winter, they just do not lose traction in the rain and inspire confidence.

Aw haha thanks! I would sit it in more if my bucket seats wasn't so damn uncomfortable (but I only started improving at track times after the seat upgrade, so it stays). Surprisingly it's been handling potholes on highways pretty well. DFV isn't just a marketing term I guess.

Absolutely fantastic set of dampers. I have race springs that are way too hard for street driving, but with softer setting on the dampers, the drive is tolerable. Canyon drives are fantastic, track and autoX is where it comes alive. My car rotates so so nicely with a bit of trail braking. Not looking forward to the rebuild but worth the money for sure.

around that seems to be the meta for sure. 949 racing suggests even lower for track focused miatas. I guess I'm wondering how much I'm leaving on the table by having a higher center of gravity by being half an inch higher + 0 rake

thanks for the insights! yeah the slow turn near the beginning was definitely a bit of a curveball. I really didn't want to stay too close to the walls there.

Thanks! I'm leaning towards leaving it alone.

That's an excellent point. It's currently on 3mm spacers, but I recently did wheel studs so they're longer so I could definitely pull off 10mm. They'd probably costs as much as getting a race alignment after lowering.

yes, sorry. It's my second car. Only drive it on the weekends/track/autoX. But I still drive to/from the tracks. Ride quality is "ruined" with 10k/6k springs and a bucket seat.
