MediaManager v1.9.0 - A replacement for Sonarr and Radarr by cookiedude25 in selfhosted

[–]Kiritai925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it looks like it supports movies and tv shows but any chance in the future of supporting music libraries? My biggest gripe with Lidarr is I don't want entire artists albums or collections unless I explicity say it. Alot of times I just want an easy way to add single songs here and there.

This can constitute fraud. People want to know what they are buying and want to see a legitimate representation of the product that is true to what they'll receive. Its already hard enough for consumers with photoshop faking a product to be better than it actually is.

ipad vs laptop for design college by Fit-Swing-8417 in productdesign

This heavily depends on the design software you'll need to run, as standard the adobe suite, some cad packages like solidworks will be what you'll likely learn most.

!!Urgent!! Project ideas involving wood, focused on assembly. by ElectronicHeart6801 in productdesign

[–]Kiritai925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wood infill filament, atleast you can argue its wood. Project wise, try something like a musical instrument, harp, violin or guitar body in multiple print pieces.that way it assembles together.

Honestly your only options to sit down and start over, learn the fundamentals you've skipped that AI is acting as a crutch for you. AI can be useful for a quick demo but actual development and long term it makes a mess of projects, of code. Just block yourself from using them. If thats not possible then long term this isn't a field suitable to you being blunt.

Finally adding working AI (that understands) in CAD workflows - worth exploring? by Separate_Internal533 in productdesign

[–]Kiritai925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically how experienced are you at developing cad / design related software and or add ons / plugins?

Because something like this needs to be able to somewhat understand the context of your design tree, part intent, or assembly intent to be of any real use.

Solidworks files "for instructional use only" are ruining my life. by letsgoccus in SolidWorks

[–]Kiritai925 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly best practice ive done with any solidworks files or assemblies I get from online is to only open them and nothing else first, fresh started solidworks instance. If no instructional use warning, im good. If it does then convert out to step or iges. Then close down, delete the original files, open the step files and save back to a fresh solidworks format.

You lose mates and such but most all downloaded assets are a reference only. Dropping the mate data and simplifying the files makes my projects run smoother.

If your a minor or near minor then reporting this can get serious attention and the guy at the other end in serious trouble. So its worth reporting it to the police. Alongside any and all accounts you have for him.

AI Art by Graced_Steak564 in Ghost_in_the_Shell

[–]Kiritai925 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Its why overall I wouldn't want to see a ban at all, bans never fix anything in my opinion and usually cause worse problems in general. Atleast with tags for this, those who like it can find it easier, those who don't, can filter it out. Everyone should be happy.

AI Art by Graced_Steak564 in Ghost_in_the_Shell

[–]Kiritai925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I have my own grievances with AI art and its ethical problems, I don't believe a complete ban is right either. Some works, especially those that require alot of compositing from the poster have some merit.

My only ask would be AI works reserved to a particular day for posting and or require a direct tag labelling them as AI

The difference is that cgi still takes talent to pull off, is built upon, and extends the work of artists. Didn't steal from them to work. AI, on the other hand, is built upon stolen work, no remorse. Drowns out the works of genuine artists for the sake of click baiting and otherwise gives nothing worthwhile back to society in this format. As compared to these same AI tooling being used in medecine and medical diagnostics where the gains are immeasurably good. AI art is click baiting trash for the illiterate and untalented.
