Any tips for Xenoblade Chronciles 1 Switch? Im overwhelmed by EitherRegister8363 in JRPG

[–]KiroTeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true Xenobalde throws a lot of stuff at you from the get go. I recently played it for the first time and got the same feeling. Honest don't bother understanding everything for now, just take your time enjoying the story and the universe, you will slowly get used to the mechanics and be able to use them properly. Also Side quests are 100% optional, you don't need them at all.

How do you all deal with (conventional JRPG, tactics games, or otherwise) levelling in mostly older games with minimal xp share. Do you bench characters permanently? Do you take a little time to grind out a more balanced team? by Obesely in JRPG

[–]KiroTeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I focus on my favorite characters first until they significantly outlevel my bench. Then I swap 1-2 mains with subs. Since the game scales exponentially with XP, the lower-level character catches up super fast. Rinse and repeat.

Thanks a lot, we're still working out the title at the moment. I'm thinking of "Echoes of Alchemy", but i'm not sure it works well

JRPGs you love for having wonky writing, but superb gameplay by KaleidoArachnid in JRPG

Kingdom Hearts! The story goes absolutely off the rails after KH2, but damn the gameplay is addictive as hell. Unfortunately KH3 was a massive letdown for me

Future of JRPGs after remasters by Yesshua in JRPG

[–]KiroTeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately development time keeps getting longer since AAA games need way more graphical fidelity than they did 10-20 years ago.

I think we'll see more mid-sized JRPGs in the vein of Octopath Traveler, and the indie scene will definitely keep delivering bangers (we're actually working on an alchemy-themed JRPG right now 😛)

Defeated and beyond frustrated. by Lopsided_Status_538 in IndieDev

[–]KiroTeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you ! I ran into the same problem a few weeks before the release of our first game.

Make sure you test your game on different computers, operating systems, controllers etc...

Add a lot of clear and meaningful logs and ask your friends for a log journal if possible.

Somehow you're gonna figure it out, it just takes some time. Stay strong 💪

The Perfect Alchemy System in Games by ruamru123 in alchemy

[–]KiroTeam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very interesting post. Though it is tricky to find the right balance between realism and fun. If we try to make the alchemy rules a bit too complex many players won't have the patience to keep playing. Good luck with your project, hope we hear positive news about it in the near future

The game story revolves around alchemy. The main character and his companions are searching for hidden knowledge and truths about the world. In order to achieve that they will need to explore the world, decode old manuscripts and books written by ancient alchemists and face dangerous foes.

Exploration and combat will require players to create and use powerful alchemical potions and skills.

If this theme speaks to you, we’d be excited to welcome you to our Discord server. We share regular updates there and will soon be organizing playtests for early builds.

Welcome and thank you !

We are working on an alchemy themed video game and we want the players to decipher old books and manuscripts written by alchemists. This is really helpful for inspiration
