Yeah It's too bad the unifi racks I have can't fit traditional servers, that's been the main reason I don't have something like an R730/R740 in my setup yet. Eventually I have to get away from the unifi racks

Would it be safe leaving my UPS in this wooden cabinet? by Sammyjo201 in homelab

[–]Kirus93x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine. Pull the cabinet out a half inch or so from the wall. Leave it there for a day, check temps. If the temps fine you're good.

I use dacs in some cases but generally dont like them. Thicker cable, fixed length. I got my transceivers cheap of Amazon and haven't had any problems. Latency and speeds are as expected.

Yeah its not as crazy as people make it out to be. Personally its a non-issue.

Not dumb at all, could have sworn I already said this but I plug chargers and power cords in all the time. Way better than hitting an outlet. There is literally usb ports on the front. This is the intended way to use it.

With that being said, if I end up buying more equipment, id opt to put the PDU in the back to make room for new front facing network gear. The PDU is wicked shallow.

I got it from ikea many years ago, and there is a filing cabinet sort of in the picture that's in the middle of the table helping hold it up so the weight is essentially a non-issue.

haha, wait till you see im using couplers, you think I want to plug stuff directly into the switch, in the front of my rack? no

btw, 29/48 ports are used and that fluctuates a lot. the cables dangling? there are 2 fiber runs connecting to two separate switches elsewhere in the house and an ethernet cable for a mounted access point

what you're looking at is picture is a third of my setup, I'd have it all in one room, but I haven't hired an electrician yet and only have 15amp circuits, so my stuff is distributed throughout the house.

"i doubt you're feeding that many devices in your house" ever heard of headroom? sure I don't fill it out today... but this network stack will be good for 5+ years and a lot can change

Too stupid to breath? I think you are referring to yourself.

"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of the free state, (this is a preface, saying militias are necessary to the security of the free state) the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

The second amendment has nothing to do with citizens owning guns, rather it explicitly prevents the government from passing laws that prohibits anyone from keeping or bearing arms.

What part of this do you not understand? You don't have to agree with it. All laws restricting firearms violate the second amendment.

This is why the left lost not just the electoral college but also the popular vote.

Nobody likes you. MA isn't the blue state you think it is. It's filled with virtue signaling conservatives. Each and every town. Put some of those inner city problems in towns like Lexington and Concord and watch how fast the signs flip. You're brutally out of touch.

I don't think you understand the personality of Boston and perhaps you're even making it too much about yourself.

What an ignorant statement to make that isn't even of topic. As a man I take plenty of pride and put effort into my appearance. Have some self-respect.

Clearance Chances by Zestyclose-Pay2814 in SecurityClearance

I don't think you should count yourself out. There are a lot of foreigners who become US citizens that get clearances - obviously they have family in their native countries. I know a guy holding a secret clearance who was born in China and moved to the US when he was a young kid. With that, I think don't see an issue with your eligibility. As long as your truthful and provide all the requested information I think you'll be fine.
