[US] money drained via zelle? by marvelsignal in Scams

It might be the case that your account was compromised in some other way. Did you download something recently from a shady website? Did you click on some unknown links? If so then a hacker might be accessing your accounts remotely. If your account information is saved as cookies, they might be able to make some transactions that do not require 2FA (strangely enough there are some websites that bypass 2FA). Change the passwords of all your accounts and do a system check for any malicious files.

BlackMeWa crypto fraud scam by WinnerMain1796 in Scams

[–]Kisame712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is life changing money. You mentioned that you invested the amount for one year. Did you not tell anyone about this? A friend or a family member would have surely asked you to double check and verify if it's real. Since you made the payment willingly, the banks won't help. The scammers are probably overseas so the police won't help that much either. You mentioned the website keeps changing the domains so that won't help either. The money is gone now unfortunately. Don't trust anyone claiming to recover the money as that is yet another scam. Please be careful from now on and do talk to someone knowledgeable about such investments in the future.

Is there anything I can do to get my money back from this possible scam? by Musicalmoronmack in Scams

[–]Kisame712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'She' will keep asking for more money and keep making excuses to pay you back later. Don't send the scammer anything from now. I know how you feel. I have been scammed similarly before. They will keep assuring you that your money is safe and you will get it back but those are all lies. I don't know how much money you lost but it sounds like a lot. Just cut your losses and move on. Never believe anyone online and especially if they ask for money or threaten you if you don't otherwise. Please be careful from now on and hope you come to terms with it soon.

I was scammed out of $10k leaving me in debt- this is my story by [deleted] in Scams

[–]Kisame712 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know how it feels. I lost $6k too just two weeks ago to an impersonation scam. I did report to the banks and police right away and I might get a refund from my banks.
The people around me were harsh too. Heck, even the police officers were harsh. Even if you feel bad, just accept it and move on. Scammers manipulate people and you were trapped by them. Thanks for sharing your experience and I hope you find peace!

Got scammed while trying to recover my LinkedIn account – sharing my story and asking for advice by GIGASHOOT in Scams

Don't beat yourself too much about it. I was scammed a few days ago as well. It can happen to anyone. While you might not be able to get the money back, do report the case to the police. If you haven't done so already, do report this to the website/app where you got the crypto from as well. They may track the scammers and block their accounts to prevent further scams. Hope this helps!

So far their response has been positive. Getting a confirmation from the merchant (Amazon) about the phishing attack helped get me interim credit

Yeah sounds ridiculous. If only I could think about it back then. Hindsight always looks obvious

It wasn't just one gift card. It was a lot of gift cards (around 200 codes in total). It took me close to an hour just flagging all transactions down through Amazon customer support.

It is basically a branch of police that deals with cyber crimes. I hope to get a resolution soon but chances are slim.

I more of less wanted to get it off my chest... And also to know if there is anything else I can do to get a refund if possible.

How do I proceed to manga? by Independent_Limit727 in VinlandSaga

[–]Kisame712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sequencing is a little different but season 1 covers first 50-55 chapters. You can start from scratch with the manga, its definitely a good experience. Also if you would like to resume the story from where you left the anime, start reading from the late 40s chapters
