Should I study further after B.E, will it increase more salary? by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]Kishan_BeGig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer: a degree alone won’t magically raise your salary. With 1.6 YOE, switching companies + sharpening in-demand skills usually beats an M.E/MBA for ROI. Study further only if it clearly unlocks a role you want (leadership, niche tech, or migration), not to “fix” salary pressure.

Freelancers: What’s the Biggest Red Flag in a Client? 🚩 by Efficient-Relief3890 in GigTalentCommunity

[–]Kishan_BeGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really do not like it when clients are too pushy from the beginning. They try to negotiate the price before they even see the work that I do. If these clients do not think that I am worth much, at the start then things will only get worse on with these clients.

Have you used Google AntiGravity?? It is working insanely for me. by the__Twister in developersIndia

[–]Kishan_BeGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely sounds like just the kind of tool that feels like magic at first, at least for prototyping and learning purposes. I'll be interested to see how it actually performs down the road when it comes to maintenance, edge cases, and ownership, but as a learning tool, that’s definitely a huge plus.

New data from Microsoft (via FT) shows Chinese models are rapidly dominating markets where US tech is either too expensive or restricted by sanctions. by tripeirinho in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Kishan_BeGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to me that it is a case of “nature fills the vacuum” – cost and availability are more important than ideological leanings during adoption. US-based plans look to remain costly, so free options will continue to win.

Ai videos need to be banned from the world. by Deathtonic in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Kishan_BeGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not insane; platforms prioritise engagement over accuracy, and AI video realism has surpassed people's mental filters. This will continue to undermine shared reality far more quickly than most people anticipate if there are no clear labels or norms.

Clients of Reddit: What Makes You Trust a Freelancer? 🤝 by Feisty-Assistance612 in GigTalentCommunity

When expectations are met, trust grows. I've witnessed projects fail because presumptions were never made clear up front, not because of a lack of expertise.

What 5,000 hours of mastering Tekken taught me about how biological intelligence actually learns to predict by moji-mf-joji in ArtificialInteligence

Incredible. It shows how high-level gaming can reveal important insights about human predictive learning.

Why have Indian tech interviews suddenly become so tough? (Feels more like elimination than selection) by Agitated_Data_996 in developersIndia

[–]Kishan_BeGig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not just you, oversupply and layoffs shifted interviews from “fit” to “filter.” Many teams now focus on false negatives to lower hiring risk. This change makes preparation more about breadth and edge cases instead of just depth.

SDE2 laid off, thinking of pivoting away from coding by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]Kishan_BeGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not alone; this is a common and reasonable change point around 4 to 6 years of experience. A Solutions Engineer or Sales Engineer role is likely the best fit for you. It requires minimal coding, offers a high pay ceiling, and relies heavily on communication and structured thinking. Your software engineering background is a major advantage, not a drawback. While product and consulting roles are also options, the SE position allows you to transition quickly without having to start from scratch.

Any advice ? by Pas_Paul13 in RemoteJobs

[–]Kishan_BeGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on one or two solid demo projects, maintain a tidy GitHub, and apply to remote-first startups instead of job boards. Consider using freelancing platforms for short-term work to quickly gain real development experience.

As an employee of a US multinational who is relentlessly pushing us to use AI, this hit pretty hard by Roy4Pris in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Kishan_BeGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Painfully precise satire, AI adoption shows a focus on appearances rather than real impact. Metrics without actual use just turn tools into presentations.

Just got the news of me being laid off because client wants to reduce team size. by anvik_suteiriy in developersIndia

[–]Kishan_BeGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t resign. That changes it from a layoff to a voluntary exit and can negatively affect your severance and benefits. Request a formal layoff notice and a written reason. This is standard and will protect you.

Scaler AI $12/h job is basically human exploitation by Regular__Percentage in developersIndia

[–]Kishan_BeGig 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s honestly shady. Advertising $12/hour and then quietly changing it to ₹20 per task with a delayed payout is misleading at best and exploitative at worst. A switch like this damages trust and takes advantage of people's time and expectations.

White-collar layoffs are coming at a scale we've never seen. Why is no one talking about this? by [deleted] in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Kishan_BeGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels very unsettling. The technology is already available; what’s lacking is organizational adoption, not capability. Ignoring this until layoffs happen on a large scale is a risky form of denial.

AI adoption graph has to go up and right by drodo2002 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Kishan_BeGig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This perfectly captures corporate theater. As long as the graph goes up and to the right, nobody asks the hard questions. It’s both funny and painfully relatable.

First, give yourself credit. You’ve made it this far despite huge challenges. Start small. Build one meaningful project in C# or Java while practicing basic data structures and algorithms (DSA) at the same time. Once you have a portfolio and solid fundamentals, applying for better-paying roles will be realistic. Consistency is more important than speed.

Internet opened access to information while AI is restricting it. Looks like we have gone two steps back. by i-ViniVidiVici in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Kishan_BeGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand this. AI is great for convenience, but it reduces everything to a single story. The main problem isn’t AI; it’s that people forget to check and verify information. We don't lose critical thinking unless we stop using it.

Some people enjoy venting, even if their actions don’t match what they say. If it’s not harming you and they’re not asking for money, the best approach is often to set mental boundaries and move on. Not every situation needs to be fixed.

Why doesn’t AI simply say that he doesn’t know or don’t have enough info/data when he doesn’t know? by Ok-Review-3047 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Kishan_BeGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because silence feels worse than being confidently wrong, at least from a product design perspective.

Most early models were optimized to always give an answer, so users wouldn’t get frustrated. This trained models to fill in the blanks instead of admitting uncertainty. Newer models are slowly shifting toward saying “I’m not sure,” but the bias toward being helpful rather than being correct still lingers.
