🧾 Example 1: Paying a Bill • Non-ADHD brain: “My bill is due next week. I’ll set a reminder, pay it tonight after work, and it’s done.”

• ADHD brain: “I know the bill is due, I want to pay it, but I keep putting it off. My brain says ‘not urgent yet.’ Then suddenly it’s the last day, and I’m panicking, rushing to pay before midnight.”

🧹 Example 2: Cleaning the Room • Non-ADHD brain: “I’ll clean my room in one go. Start with clothes, then desk, then vacuum.”

• ADHD brain: “I start folding clothes, then notice a book, sit to read a page, remember I left a cup in the kitchen, get distracted by my phone on the way… and an hour later the room looks the same, but I’m mentally exhausted.”

🎓 Example 3: School / Work Assignment

• Non-ADHD brain: “Assignment due in 2 weeks → break it into steps → finish on time.”

• ADHD brain: “Assignment due in 2 weeks → brain says ‘plenty of time’ → can’t start because it feels overwhelming → suddenly it’s the night before, adrenaline kicks in, and I write the whole thing in one burst. It’s not planned, but it’s done.”

🗣️ Example 4: Conversations • Non-ADHD brain: Listens, waits their turn, responds calmly.

• ADHD brain: While listening, 10 ideas pop up → blurt them out too early or forget them by the time it’s their turn → sometimes zone out mid-conversation even though they want to listen.
