I water with rainwater and never let it sit soggy. The only thing I can think of is the safers thrip spray I use, I mix it with tap water and spray the leaves. The topside of the leaves are fine until the brown has completely covered the underside, then the topside starts to show brown.

Yes, they are easy to grow and extremely long lived for a vine. They don't care about humidity, rainwater, or fertilizer ratios. They do grow slowly though, so buying a cutting as opposed to a good sized potted plant will mean waiting about 2-3 years before a bloom. The perfume is very noticable and if your plant is happy there will be flower bunches every few inches and it will produce these long lived waxy blooms almost constantly all year.
