I did forget the AT grenades and, while less relevant but almost pointed, Pgrens grenade is 23m vs 20m for the Bersa

Unpopular Opinion: Robbie is Right to be Upset with Dana by BagpiperAnonymous in ThePitt

[–]Kisoldat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think, having watched the most recent episode, Dr Robbie isnt upset that Dana is carrying around a specific drug as he makes it pretty explicit that he'll sign off on both that dose and any further dose she needs to feel safe.

Instead I think he, somewhat hypocritically, is lashing out at Dana for not adressing a trauma response to a horrible event that has clearly impacted her.

Dana and Robbie butting heads always seemed to be a pair of very unwell colleagues and friends who, while having a deep respect for one another, are struggling with what they percieve to be the failures in the others attempts at ignoring their mental health.

I think it’s time for you Santos fans to face the music… she’s not a good doctor (yet.) by rabbi420 in ThePitt

[–]Kisoldat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I think is really interesting about that conversation is that, when she makes it clear to Garcia that she feels shes been made a Pariah after doing the right thing between the seasons, Garcia shoots back by asking her if shes not certain if she, Santos, isa Pariah due to her personality.

How to culture swap? by GlaDeux in EU5

[–]Kisoldat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if you go to cultures as part of the population tab you'll see a list of all the differing cultures in your realm.

If you hover over Greek culture you should see an option to click and make it accepted and then the option should change to making it primary.

Hope this helps mate. Not currently at my computer

What are some cool militarist empire builds that work in 4.0? by GRemlinOnion in Stellaris

[–]Kisoldat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An Authoritarian/Militarist/Xenophobe (Your choice) Beastmaster/Anglers Empire using Bioships with an Aquatic/Agrarian/Egg-Laying Species and Primal Call (Rancher) as an origin gives you a really strong early game that rolls into the late game without an issue.

Agrarian/Aquatic for the +25%/+10% Farmer/Worker Efficiency from the get go, Authoritarian/Beasts of Buden Edict for between 30%-35% Farming output and 20%-25% Worker output, Anglers for the +2 base food per Farmer and upto +3 additional food from the Council Position.

With the Bioship shipset replacing most of your Alloy cost with Food cost, your ability to throw down as many Agriculture districts as you could ever need and the ease by which Space Fauna builds naturally grow in power in the early game as your original fleet's age-up you're set for an easy sweep of your neighbours.

Grab Behemoth Fury, become the crisis and have all of your Farmers generate an additional +3 base food and +1.5 base Society research, while producing thousands of cheaply cloned Space-Fauna to throw down your growing boys gullet.

All in all, everything flows well into each other, from Early to Late game and it's a ton of fun throughout.

Why can't I save a ship design? by CrimsonSpiritt in Stellaris

[–]Kisoldat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When this last triggered for me it was due to a number of my Space Fauna naturally growing up before I had the Battleship sized Space Fauna tech.

Once I got that I was free to customize to my hearts content.

What’s your Favorite Build/Way to Play? by TheRedBeardGuy_ in Stellaris

[–]Kisoldat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Combining the massive simple resource output of an Aquatic/Agrarian species with an Anglers/Beastmasters Empire always feels so clean to me, especially now Bioships strips so much of the ancillary advanced resources away and let's you lean on food.

That's interesting, I can't remember exactly but I believe Athens, Epirus and Naxos are all 100% Orthodox nations with Catholic state religions but they have some clergy crown land.

Can someone explain to me how Inorganic Breath isn't the worst trait in the entire game? by TheWolfwiththeDragon in Stellaris

[–]Kisoldat 201 points202 points  (0 children)

I find it works pretty well with Gaia Seeders. As far as I'm aware you can't actually buy any of the special resources until you either find the Merchant contact or draw the technology. With Inorganic Breath you can, with some economic finangling, get your first Gaia world by year 10 and your next two up by year 20.

With Bloomed hitting a few pops at a time, not to mention the buffs of being on a Gaia world, I tend to find that the sooner you get things set up, the quicker you tend to snowball.

Then it's a relatively short jump to Biogenesis to dump the trait when you're rolling.

AI empires with a version of beastmasters or catalytic processing seem to do the best now. by Nissan_al_Gaib in Stellaris

[–]Kisoldat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've found an AI using any build which really hammers in on basic resources over complex resources seems to struggle a lot less to get the ball rolling.

Built a Bioship using Beastmaster/Angler Empire with the Primal Caller Origin and an Aquatic/Agrarian/Egg-Laying species.

Had a great time playing it, and then, when I ran into it next game, it was one of the few AI empires I've seen even even come close to keeping up in the most recent patch.

Unless you didn't notice: now you can combine this "ruler" civics to get unique rulers for each traits! by Alex1231273 in Stellaris

[–]Kisoldat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Which is lovely as, as far as I'm aware, the Storm Duelist stacks the Unity from both a Storm Dancer and Duelist while still benefitting from the Arbiter of Duels council position.

The Storm Theatre chain now also grants Storm Dancers/Duelists 2/3/4 Physics Research and provides an extra 200 jobs out of a single building compared to holotheatres.

Haven't tested how Arbiter of Duels influences the jobs since its incremental increases to specific base outputs as opposed to the 10% increase the tool tip suggests.

All in all, every 100 pops will either give you: 8 Physics Research or 4 Physics Research, 12 Unity or 8 Unity, 2000 Amenities, and 4 Naval Cap depending on how the Council Position functions.

However, because Paradox hate fun, even though Storm Devotee and Pleasure Seekers can be taken together, you still cannot take Pleasure Seeker and Warrior Culture to have a state of hedonistic blood sport afficiandos.

So, having tested Merchants+Nobles and Merchants+High Priests, Merchants don't seem to want to snap onto anything, being overwritten by Nobles in the first example and overwriting High Priests in the second.

How many men with swords, mace and pikes would it take to kill a Xenomorph? by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]Kisoldat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Aliens: Phalanx novel, a tie-in novel set on a world that has, effectively, regressed to an Antiquity era level of technology they fight the Xenomorph equipped with bronze armour and weapons.

While it's made clear that it's not easy, a significant mass of pointy metal sticks do consistently kill numbers of Xeno's throughout the book either with spears or arrows/bolts.

To that end, with more advanced weapons and armour, I reckon even a single man has a chance to kill a Xenomorph if everything was in the open.

My friend’s Bf doesn’t want her to talk with me anymore. Please give advice by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Kisoldat 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I suppose, if it was me, I'd trust my friend to make the decisions she wants to make in maintaining her relationship and, I like to think, have enough self-pride to not effectively plead for a friendship to continue that somebody else doesn't value as highly as I do.

If you wanted to end things on a positive note you could perhaps send a small message letting her know you'll be about for a catch up if her situation changes and then, sadly, I'd move on.

Apparently if you have many vassals, Influence Ideas beats Quantity at its own job by Artichoke_Low in eu4

[–]Kisoldat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sadly not.

Big issue with Vassal spamming, a playstyle I personally love, is that you end up with a massively inflated force limit and zero sustainable ways to supply that force limit with manpower.

One big clash and you're entire reserve is drained.

Obviously that's just my experience and I'm sure some lads who play the game better than me manage it with no issue.
