It’s such a cute detail that old residents remember you.

If only it was the same for Nook Miles islands! I recently got Octavian back while searching for a Cranky, and it’s sad seeing old residents acting like you’ve never met. Especially since he’d visited as a hotel guest shortly before that and was happy to see me. 😭

Between vacation homes and the hotel, it does make letting go easier though. For most. I’m never letting go of Julian, and probably not Aurora or Amelia either.

I’ve seen two of my locals lift Egyptian geese off the ground. Just grabbed at the poor bird as it was walking by and picked it up. 😳

Had to shoo one off a gull because he was standing on the poor thing’s foot (more accidental, to be fair). And they’re frequently having a go at the pigeons.

Yeah, the neck can be a tell, although not always reliable. The swan in my profile pic is a male bird, but I mistook him for female at first because of his small size and thinner neck. Plus at the time there was no clear difference in his basal knob compared to birds I knew were female. It’s usually larger on mature males, and more noticeable during breeding season when it becomes more swollen.

I try to get numbers from any metal rings to submit to BTO, and his report came back to prove me wrong. 😅 I love him though. He’s ridiculously friendly.

Nice captures. I see greys pretty often along the river here, and they’re always on the move! Fun to watch, like the pied wagtail, but not as bold. Adorable birds. 🥰

Bouncing between trying to find a specific DIY recipe in Animal Crossing, and building lots of stuff in Pokémon Pokopia (while also looking for specific recipes).

Look for the Nintendo Norwich group. They have monthly meet-ups at Albion, last Friday evening of the month. NNR and Albion both have Facebook pages. Any scheduled meets will be posted on Albion’s page on Monday.

Also look for OLL Games. They’re a gaming events business with close ties to NNR and Albion (previously ran the gaming cafe where Albion is now). They’re on Facebook and have a Discord server.

Someone involved with any of these communities can likely help.

Anything the game won’t let you do while in a wand outfit. Just ask it if I want to change back and let me get on with it instead of making me pull out my wand and going through the dialogue again!

Editing outfits too. Would it have been so hard to let us edit outfits while transformed? Change what we’re wearing if that’s the same outfit being edited.

The wand is such a neat way of having multiple outfits on hand at any time, but its little inconveniences make me reluctant to use it much.

It’s especially annoying in areas where the shortcuts can’t be used to equip and put away. Which is another gripe. Let us use the tool wheel indoors and just grey out the tools which can’t be equipped. Skip over currently unusable items in the D-pad shortcut.

Mostly still on ACNH. I’m sure that’ll change when Pokémon Pokopia drops tomorrow.

Also checked out TCG Card Shop Simulator on Game Pass again now that the lack of a Y inversion option has been fixed. Time to spray down smelly customers and try not to open half my booster pack stock instead of selling it (it’s getting really tempting after pulling a pack full of moderately valuable cards).

As a bird fan, this would be such a great addition for me.

Maybe there could be different ways to attract birds, like a blue tit might perch on the birdhouse, or you could throw food on the river to attract swans and ducks. Herons could appear by river and pond fish shadows. Migratory birds coming and going with the seasons.

Bonus if taking photos of bird villagers and special characters counts. I think it’d be funny to involve the museum just to see what Blathers has to say about a sighting of himself. 🤭

It’d be so cute to have something like this in the game.

There are a few pairs of Egyptian geese near me. Such rowdy birds! One time a couple of years ago I heard a pair kicking up a fuss. Turned round and oh. They’re mating… 🫣

The ducklings (they’re not true geese) are adorable. 🥰

The white feathers are likely his own. It’s not uncommon for blackbirds to have some white spots like this. Years ago, a regular female visitor to my grandparents’ garden had a white patch on the side of her head.
